S550 Climate control buttons stopped working after changing battery
My 2010 S550 climate control buttons stopped working after changing the battery. The air conditioner/heating still works via the command center but I noticed the ambient lighting on the dash is also not working anymore. After doing some research I found that most people say to check the fuse but nobody tells you EXACTLY where the fuse is and the owners manual is no help. Can anybody tell me where the fuse to the climate control is located specifically? And furthermore, if the fuse is not blown, what might be the cause for the buttons to stop working and is there a simple fix?

Out Of Control!!
You don't have a fuse issue---your issues are with the faults caused by stopping\starting voltage to the system by removing the battery--now you need a diagnostic tool to clear the voltage faults!!

This doesn't sound right. It is possible that your hvac module needs to be reset via star/ das, but this is not common at all. Are you sure you didn't connect/ disconnect/ connect quickly while attaching the battery wires to battery? The will burn up various random modules and the hvac one is a prime candidate.

It was a fuse
Thanks all, but it was a fuse. Fuse number F40 in the engine compartment panel. After much research I decided to start there and viola! Thanks to mercedesmedic for the fuse diagrams!
