Rear puddle lights not working on passenger side rear

Fellas. Need some help. My passenger side rear door lights (there is a red light on the side of door and a white light at the bottom) will not come on. I tried swapping the front passenger white light and red lights that I know both work with the passenger rear and they still won't come on in the rear.

Ideas?

Again, this is ONLY the lights on the Passenger side rear door ONLY.

Dealer says most likely a door control module. There is one for each door. Sound correct?

DAS should identify fault code. Diagram shows module, need VIN to supply replacement part #. Ambitious... pull door panel check harness before replacing module.

Thanks.

I'm still under Mercedes CPO warranty. I called and they said it may not be under warranty. I would hope it is...?

It is usually the harness on Vehicles that see regular use of rear doors.

Not much use here on rear doors and only 22,000 miles I guess the easiest repair is a new door module...

At your mileage it is probably the module. Star/ das can confirm it.

Thanks, you guys are great. I just find it funny that power windows, shades, everything else works, just not those two lights in the door. that module should be covered by CPO you would think.?

Hi Jason,

I hope this is helpful. I replaced my door lights, with those door lights that contain the MB logo (sample pictures of the lights are on another thread). I ended up getting the dealership to do it for me (cost $80 CDN), because they had to make a change in the Command system to recognise the lights. All I know it was a setting change, and it was not a difficult change, but it took them a while to figure out what change to make...

Thanks, that seems of though. Those type of lights draw the same current and should work regardless.

I agree with you, but when I changed the light on one door, it did not work; so I brought it to the dealership to complete the job. They quickly changed the lights, thinking that everything should work; but it did not. Then they made the command system change, and I been good ever since...
