Thrust arm versus Control Arm

Warranty company is refusing my claim for replacement of a upper and lower from arm and bearing because MB used the word Thrust.

i have coverage for the control arm but not thrust. Parts geek says the thrust arm is the same as control. The name is interchangeable.

Is there a difference? Should coverage be given ?

This is all up to your warranty company. You might get somewhere with them if you put up a fight, but they probably wouldn't agree to cover then entire claim. You'd probably need documentation to show that it is actually a control arm, although the control arms and thrust arms are 2 different parts on our cars. Fortunately, the part is fairly inexpensive at around $100 or so, but labor is where the real costs are.

I'm guessing that the warranty company views the thrust arm as a wear item as it's usually the rubber bushings that wear out, which are definitely wear items. All you can do if fight for yourself and hope to meet in the middle somewhere.

I've got coverage for the upper and lower control arms, shafts and bushings, torsion bars, upper and lower ball joints, stabilizer bar, etc.

Only thrust arms that I see are on the rear

Get the part numbers and do some research to see what they actually are. Maybe you'll have a case.

Just talked to Mercedes and it's called a control arm strut. There is coverage and they are debating if it has failed.

the noise alone should prove that
