Goof Off on body?
I have some berry(?) stains on my hood that aren't coming off with water and elbow grease. Wondering if I can apply a bit of Goof Off or will it damage the finish?
Thanks much,

You can try using a compound followed by a good polish on it to see if that will get the stains out. If not, then you can go to a 2500-3000 grit sandpaper and try wet-sanding it. That will not harm the clear coat, but will need to be followed up by compound, polish, and wax to bring back the luster.

Do you have any idea whether something like Goof Off will damage the clear coat?
Thanks again,

@belanger - Wow berry stains stuck on the hood? Surprised they are actually sticking. I think Goof Off might be to strong. You need something with organic ingredients. Don't use anything with 'chemicals'. Please keep us posted. Goof off sounds like that video game I recently played while wearing a SubPac.

Mercedes uses a catalyzed clear coat, so you can get pretty aggressive with solvents and never touch the clear. Acetone gets out everything, but Goof Off should work too. Try some on an inconspicuous area (underside of the decklid, etc) and make sure it wipes away clean and doesn't gum up.

That's good info, i have a few splashes of whatever on the car and it comes off with water and cloth, but it takes a while, I was a little noid about using solvents on the finish.
