Center brake LED light
I have been getting "check center brake light" message on the center console. When I check the brake light it's out but then every once in a while it comes back on. Now the light is out completely. If anyone can give ideas and tips on how to replace the center light or maybe diagnose what the problem could be I would appreciate it.

The fuse chart is located in the fuse box in the vehicle tool kit in the trunk. Spare fuses and the fuse extractor are also in that kit. I believe there are 5 different fuse locations in the S550, 2 in the engine compartment, 2 in the front passenger compartment, and 1 in the rear passenger compartment behind the center armrest. I'll leave it up to you to figure out which fuse controls the center brake light. You can also have it diagnosed at your local dealer.

Ok I'm going to have to have dealer maybe look at it. I don't have the fuse chart, don't think mine came with one. Checked trunk and glove box still didn't come up with one.

Do you have a W221 or a W220? Your profile says you drive and S55, of which is not a W221. If you have a W220, you might be better off asking the question on that board.

I have a W221 I bought one a year ago. I used to have a S55 traded it in. If anyone can send me a link of the fuse chart I would appreciate it I want to start trying to diagnose the light with the fuse box.

Wired/controlled via rear SAM – no dedicated fuse. Could be ground (17/1 in attachment), wire harness, or part may need replacement. Will need to remove rear shelf in order to replace part. I believe harness can be inspected by removing trunk upper trim panel (17 in attachment).

thanks for the help, I got another 3rd brake light today. Now just got to work on getting the rear shelf and trunk apart to replace it. I have a B&O sound system in the car is there anything special that needs to be done to get the rear deck off with this?
