22's
22's look great but don't last. I have had several friends spending up to $10,000 on 22" wheels and tires, and in three months they are bent and junk. The car is too heavy.
The highest you can go is 21's. But, you still have to be careful. It is still taking a risk, but I am putting 21's on my S65 next month. 20's are just too small.

What are the 21's and tire sizes?

Here's a w220 on 22's from youtube. I don't think it looks horrible but it doesnt look good either! The car sits too high(IMO) plus it has too much chrome. I'd like to see 22's with a drop on a w220! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=uWfWgRfZ2m8

Definately ugly...Chrome is a turn off for me, so that much chrome on any size is chrome city. So there needs to be a happy medium here. First off there needs to be more narrow spokes that show more of the caliper. Then they need to be either polished or what I'm gonna go for is a dark gray color. Similar to the S65 wheels or a matte black with maybe a polished lip. Whether they will be 20's or 22's might be decided on what style I can find.
Right now I have my eyes on the Veniti Monaco, or the C13-DC. Most likely 20's. I'm gonna go for a concave wheel either way, and these 2 wheels are.
Keep the info and pics coming;-)

I would go with 21 as the largest. Not sure how they will rub though, especially if lowered. 22's make the car look a little big foot. Don't want to end up like:

I have 20" vertini and they rub in the back over bumps on freeway at high speed or any dip for that matter. I have 275/35/r20 probably gonna go to 255/30 in the rear once my tires bald out. No rub in the front though with 245/30.

Well I hope you meant to say you have 275 30 19 in the rear, otherwise that's the problem right there...35 series tires are too big for the rear. At least from what I've been reading

22"s do suit the car. Take into consideration that any rim with a lip will appear smaller.
If you want looks and comfort then stick to a 21" wheel. The 22's you do feel more of the road and if you do hit a pot hole it sounds like your entire suspension just got a good whack. It echos through the car and makes me cringe.
You can "tire match" the diameter of the stock wheel to the new 22" wheel so that your speedometer is not thrown off. Ex My stock tires were 255 35 20 and 275 35 20 so the fronts had a rolling diameter of 27" and the rear had a rolling diameter of 27.6". I ended up putting 245 30 22 and 295 25 22 on my car.
DAMN IT.. I just noticed the guy above me raised this post from over 3 years ago.
