Transmission Mount replacement cost?

Hello Everyone,

Realistically, how much should it cost to have my transmission mount replaced? I went to an independent shop today, & he wanted to charge me $150.00 to do it. Does that sound right?

It seems rather high, but I've never had this work done before, so I’m not sure.

I already have the mount; all I need is to have it installed.

I also was going to have him change my oil & do the mount. He wanted $175.00 for the oil change, & $150.00 for the mount. Since I knew that oil change price was high, I figured the price he was charging for the mount was also high.

Thank you all in advance for your replies.

$150 to install a tranny mount by itself is quite high, but considering the time he needs to get the car on the lift and stuff, if he is trustworthy, its not the end of the world.

$150 once the car is already in for an oil change is a load of BS.

Realistically, this is an easy DIY. Doesn't take much longer than 20 minutes or so.

The mount is so easy to change, so go for it. I think they are like 40 bucks but have not priced on in years.

I already have the mount, & paid exactly $40.00 like you mentioned. I wish I could install it myself, but I have never done anything like this before.I know $150.00 is not allot of money, but I felt like he was trying to take advantage of me. Taking into account the price he was charging for the oil change, along with the mount replacement.
