considering selling my 2015 S63 for Range Rover - am I making a mistake?

hi, I am strongly considering switching from my 2015 S63 with just under 900 miles (traded my 13 G63 after finding out MB is releasing updates for the 2016MY, moreover a family member got a 14 G63 so there is still one around) to a 2015 RR LWB. In terms of features and options as much as the RR is loaded with them, the S63 is in a class of its own and I am going to miss all the 'toys' and the craftsmanship of MB. I live in Chicago and with our roads/winters I just feel guilty exposing and abusing the S63 - I use an Audi Allroad as a daily driver to preserve the S-class but will get rid of it once the RR comes in, if i pull the trigger.

Am i making a mistake here?

i think the s-class is the better vehicle, but the luxury of the RR is nice, especially in the lwb.

I prefer cars to suvs so i'd probably stick with the MB

Keep the Mercedes!!!! I wish I could upgrade to that model.. I love the look and the interior is amazing.

Range Rovers use Ford engines..... They are not a reliable SUV and they are the most expensive on maintenance and to repair. After Tata in Indian acquired Range Rover they had an agreement with Ford to keep using their engines until 2019. I guess that give them time to research and developing an engine of their own.

pretty sure the 5.0L from 2010 or so is a jaguar design. Could it have ford origins...maybe, but then again, ford builds one hell of a V8. *****ing about a Ford v8 is asinine.

The reliability is a concern, but he seems like he has other cars to use if the rover was in the shop.

I think you need to spend some time in one. only real way to know.

The new RR autobiography is an amazing SUV. I am more an SUV guy so I don't think it's a mistake at all. Although I would take a G63 over the RR but that's just me.

As a family SUV, you just can't go wrong with the RR.
