S55 S65 W220 exhaust ?

Is their much of a differnece in the exhaust note between the 03 s55 and the 06 s65? I figured the mufflers would be the exact same.

If you are looking for more sound you can chop your mufflers and put a straight pipe, common mod on the 600/65 models.

Thanks for the reply. I deleted the secondary cats and resonators on my 55k. I just to happen to see another 55k online who put w220 65 mufflers on his, sounded a little bit different. Was just curious on if they were different.

Hello I'm new to the MBworld I just recently bought me a 04 mb s55, and wanted to know what can't I do to the muffler to sound more aggressive.

Well i didn't touch the mufflers, but I did do a secondary cat and resonator delete. Love the deep tone to it.

I just deleted the secondary cats and resonators and replaced them with straight pipes, rather cheap. Only ran about $150. I'm sure you could find it cheaper. Unless you went the route a lot of users on the fourms by replacing it with an x pipe.

X pipes a little more restrictive than straight pipes. People will do x pipe for the secondary cats and straights pipes through the resonators. If you look on the W211 forum you can find a lot of information there. There is not too much of a different sound between the x pipes and straight pipes but the straight pipes will sound a little bit more aggressive.

Well I'm going with straight pipes. Do know if w221 muffler tail tips fit on my w220? If I want to take off my muffler.

I do believe I have seen one S55 with S63/S65 exhaust tips. I'm not sure if it's a direct fit but I have seen it done before.
