S55 limiter at 140?
Took a nice drive from SF to LA .. three different times I stalled out at 140. I hit 130 in 4th pulling hard the whole way, rpm's about 6,500 .. but when it drops into 5th, she won't go above 5,000 rpm's and just sits at 140. Still pulls to 140(not as hard as to 130) but cannot get the rpm's to budge past 5k
Now, she's a 2005 with 189k miles, fantastic shape and maintained but I am considering that she's just tired from miles and age? Doesn't explain the rpm pegging in 5th gear each time though.
Is this the limiter, or just a tired AMG?

Thanks for the reply, I agree! Had the resonators deleted and X-pipe put in, for f a problem with bearings in the supercharger pully .. me thinks I've been underpowered for a bit. Still doesn't make sense that rpm's stalled at 5k tho.
Upgrades coming to resolve all of that 😈

Are you still using your stock water pump? Had to replace mine (CM30) a long time ago because after 1-2 hard pulls, it loses power.

Stock waterpump, just had thermostat replaced and bearings in supercharger were bad .. not sure if those were the culprit but will find out soon. Wondering if the new lip will add downforce at speed and increase airflow to intercooler ..
