Is the S65 just an outcast?

Better to save the money for the coil packs and ignition module (and perhaps transmission) failures that seem somewhat inevitable on those cars. Almost anything you have to repair is an "engine out" job. So most just leave them stock (with a tune), because as Shardul points out, anything else is cost prohibitive unless you're doing it yourself. Keeping them stock and running well is expensive enough for most people's tastes.

I think another reason that there isn't much offered for the S65 is because it's already about as fast as you can get with some type of reliability. If you up the engine output, you're looking to blow the transmission. In other words, the car is pushing the limits as it is.
