Just got a 2007 S65 question on steering

I love the car, bought it out of state Friday and drove home 9 hours, which was a good time to learn about the car.

Anyway one thing I don't like is the steering effort. It is heavy which is fine on the road but requires more effort than I would expect (or desire) in the parking lot. Basic every day economy cars have had speed sensitive power steering for 20 years so I would expect a flagship Mercedes to as well. Fluid level is fine and there is no noise coming from the pump.

Never owned an AMG, or any mercedes for that matter. Do these cars just require a lot of steering effort at low speed or is something wrong?

The dealer I bought if from (Audi dealer not Mercedes) replaced the power steering pump last month after they got the car on trade, wondering if that has anything to do with it?

The steering shouldn't be tough. I can easily one-finger steer mine. I wonder is the dealer correctly purged any air in the pump and/or rack.

Should not be hard or tough to steer at parking lots speeds. Something is amiss.

I can almost guarantee them replacing the pump has something to do with it.
Bring it to a Benz tech and get her fixed.

Thanks.
It has loosened up quite a bit since I bought it. I'm guessing it wasn't bled properly and the air is working its way out.

I will probably bring it in next month. I also did check the ABC fluid level and it is fine.

Unusual to have an airlock prob as it purges air as soon as it starts try a full lock to lock to rid any trapped air.

SUPER NICE! Congrats. Rare to see a white S65 out there in the wild.
