Thanks! My motor mounts were done around 66-86 thousand miles I forget what the Carfax said, but they were both on there. Anyway, now at 127k they are starting to get a little low again so they do need to get done.

So many things are available for these cars that greatly reduce cost of repairs!

Nice! I thought my TPMS was messed up and it just needed to be reset in the settings!

Just thought I'd mention, you guys have to be careful when ordering those repair kits. Some are 00-01 only, some are 01-05 and some are 02-06!

I just bought eight new TPMS for our two 2005 cars. Both have dead sensors.
I bought from TPMS 24/7 for 205.00 shipped.

What the heck? Still no interior and exterior pics? Who cares about all that little stuff. It's nothing in the long run. Let's seem them pics and CONGRATS! The MSRP on these cars is 10X plus what you paid for it. A 10 year old car will have slight issues, always. Just live with as many as you can.

Also, be prepared to pay $3k-4K a year to maintain it. Stuff that's expensive could go wrong. It's still a DEAL, whatever the heck you paid for it.

That's a TON of car for that money. There's certainly no way I'd sell mine for that. In my experience, although expensive stuff CAN go wrong, they usually don't if the car is driven and maintained as MB designed it. Sure, if you go throwing >10% more power through the drivetrain, you may have transmission issues, blown superchargers, broken pulleys, etc. (surprise, surprise). And in some cases, even if you maintain it the way they say (no trans or ABC flushes), you'll have issues. But my experience has been that expensive stuff doesn't often go wrong. The ABC valve blocks will require rebuilding, though. My point is, you won't spend $4k per year on this car. If you do, you bought the wrong one. This initial $2k spend will probably last you the next couple of years, presuming it's not a daily driver in the stoplight derby or a track rat.

Congrats again.

Thanks Maw! I tend to agree with you. I sold my 2000 S430 to a buddy of mine when the cluster went out and I instantly regretted it. Over the 6-7 years it's been since then that car has been almost completely trouble free for him. I bought two W221's after that and they just didn't do it for me. They were nice don't get me wrong but that W220 to me seems like more of a classic Mercedes type feeling car. Solid and tank like.

Thanks guys, yes this is the one from Studio. The guy is really down to earth and totally honest. Didn't try to make the car look better than it was, he was very straight on everything. Even let me take it on my own to my MB specialist which surprisingly gave it almost a complete bill of health besides a couple minor things. Did you check it out before you bought yours? Which one did you get it Hawthorne?

Jordan Auto, 2005. Got it for 10k but with a lot of issues (still got them too!).

I did not get a chance to check it out because once the 2005 popped up, I bought it within 24 hours of listing. Then the one you got popped up 2 weeks later. You got the nicer wheel for 2006 and power trunk closer over my year.

I had the supercharger pulley about to fall off, that was a hefty price tag. PSE pump, went thru 3 of them and checked all soft close/trunk lines. Still having issues with that. Low beam projector lense burnt out so light output is ridiculously dimmed. Those are the majors.

Ouch! Sorry to hear! I know my soft close works on all but the drivers door and there is a repair kit on eBay and it seems that when they break they develop vacuum leaks perhaps you have a leak somewhere besides the pump. How did you tell your blower pulley was about to fall off and why was it so expensive? I see aftermarket pulleys that up the boost besides losing the clutch.

Post #228 explains it well. You can buy the scattershield for extra peace of mind or constantly check your pulley if you work or clean your engine often.

When I got my vehicle, there was a loud noise emitting from the engine and I traced it down to the supercharger pulley.

I know I have a leak on my driver's side. The plastic piece in the door is broken so I got that resolved.

Ouch! I brought my car down to specialist friend to come up with a plan on maintenance. Here's my game plan: he's going to change motor mounts, change oil, inspect everything flush ABC filter and fluid and he gets the rebuilt pumps by a well known company with an M that rebuilds them at his cost for $250 so I'm having him do the pump at the same time because even though it has good pressure he says he sees them always loose pressure in the morning when cold when they are on their way out and we did find a low pressure error saved when we did the pre inspection so I think it's safe insurance. He's going to inspect the pulleys and everything else and anything it needs we will replace. Going to drop it off Monday for the work!

Thanks! I just had something weird happen. I got in the car and hit the start button and it seemed like it tried to turn the engine over for not even a split second and it just stopped but the ignition was still on. I had to press the button again to turn it off and then back on. Also the other day I started it and it seemed to turn over for a bit when usually it fires right up. I thought that may just be a CPS. Any ideas what this no start issue could be? thanks!
