Mine would have an extended crank every now and again, so my guys replaced the CPS. That was a few years back. That cured nothing (still does it, every now and then, not enough to bother me), so now I have an extra CPS in the glove box.

My car did that once in a while. Not again since replacing the big old trunk battery.

Easy job. I had mine replaced proactively by the indy while doing other service.
Bosch from Amazon 29.95. I would like to know how much you get it for from your MB connect. Mine wanted 170.00.

Please keep us posted on whether these maintenance items address your concern with the car, particularly the noise under the floor pan.

Which part? All of the work that I'm having done? If so it's going in on Monday morning for that. Tomorrow I'm going to pull the trunk panel and hope the car is prewired for the phone system so I can retrofit it instead of having to gut the system and go aftermarket which I kinda of hate to do except if I do I'll put a nice system in it.

Hey guys! I got my car back today! So heres what was done. I had him change the oil/A service, drop a little of the trans fluid (it looked great but was a little over the top line and he said he likes to keep them below because when you take a long trip it goes up), replace the CPS with my new Bosch unit, check all the suspension bushings, flex discs, belts/pulleys, etc., replace the valve cover gaskets, replace the motor mounts and trans mount, replace the struts on the trunk, replace the ABC pump, flush the fluid, replace the ABC filter, rodeo, and set the tire pressure. All of that cost me $1,800 and change (closer or almost $1,900)!

Also, while the car was there we went down with the guy who installed the factory phone system, bluetooth puck, voice control and satellite radio for $1,100.

Overall I'm very happy so far! He said there isn't much of anything left to fix besides the drivers side door soft close and the front flex disc is just starting to show cracking, but he said it was still fine for some time. Other than that he couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I am very excited!!

Well we had a little incident lol! After getting my car back I drove it about 5-10 miles and it was fine but I did notice a little whiff of oil still like before the valve cover gasket, so I assumed it was just the left over oil burning off which it could have been but then on a drive down the hill I lost power steering. Right after the ABC light went from white to red and the car would no longer lift with the button. I was a couple miles from home so I babied it home and as I got home smoke started coming out of the hood so I shut it off. To make a long story short when the work was done they accidentally moved the oil cooler line and it was rubbing on the pulley and sprung a leak! It started oiling down the belt and that's why I started losing systems one by one! Luckily I babied it so it never got pasted 2k RPM and thankfully the couple miles home only lost 3 of the 9 quarts of oil so once the new $300 line was installed with new belts she's back to new. I'm just grateful it happened when I was so close to home and on a rainy night when I was putting slowly!

That sort of thing is really important.

When I re-fitted my radiator fan cowl a few years ago, I screwed the auxiliary radiator pipe into the wrong hole, and inch too high. The rim of the fan then pressed against the pipe, causing an additional load on the fan motor, which eventually overheated.

I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else, as it's avoidable.

Me either! I hate when stupid things happen that could have been avoidable but I actually think this happened for the better! The new belts must be making a big difference and the old ones must have been pretty bad because the squeaking noises I heard in the morning on cold starts is completely gone now! Guessing the belts must have been slipping just a tiny bit when warming up.

It feels great! It's so smooth and quiet! I gave it about a quarter throttle the other day on the freeway and I looked down and was at right about 120 and I couldn't believe it! I had to let off to slow down so I didn't get a ticket! I couldn't believe how quickly it climbed to 120 with such light throttle and how being so smooth and quiet made it feel like I was going much slower! I have yet to really get on the car, but even with just a light throttle it will pull me back into the seat quite nicely! Very happy!

I was curious.. I just read on another thread about the upper strut bushings on these cars not being separate. I've tried searching but haven't found too much yet, but haven't finished yet. Anyway, I know the rear strut on the passenger side was just replaced with an Arnott unit but I have no idea about the other three. Are these bushings still unavailable? How does Arnott replace them on their rebuilts? Is there a good way I can check mine? I assume by one post I found that there shouldn't be space between the bushing and the shock tower under the hood? Thanks guys!

I would leave it be. The only time its a bother is when you jack up the car or fly over RR tracks. That being said.. I was going to use tire patch glue to fix mine at one time.

Call Arnott, and ask for Doug. He'll tell you. He's also "ArnottDoug" on this site, I believe.

Thanks! I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask. They have to replace them on their rebuilds somehow, they claim on their website these rebuilds are better than new OEM and they worked with some company to produce great poly seals that last a long time.. I'm curious to see what they do now!
