S63 will not detect Key to open viat touch or proximity.
Hello,
I have a 2011 S63 AMG. Yesterday was a hard rain. I went to start my car. Push to start would not work. Will not detect key when I touch the handle to unlock or when I push the button to start, however I can remove the button and insert the key and start the car and I can lock/unlock the doors by pushing the remote buttons. Just will not detect the key within proximity. Fobs have brand new batteries. I have 2 fobs and the car will not detect either Fob. Could it be the antenna or harness in the door? I don't believe it is the EIS due to the car is still starting manually. Brake switch is working perfectly fine as well. If I wanted to manually start the car. Id buy a 1980 Chevy pick-up.
Thank You!!!
Jason

Out Of Control!!
Your problem is as you started to define----coulda----coulda----coulda-- bla bla
The system is very complicated and without some good factory or equal diagnostic tools it could be loads of things, but what is faulty----that you will find out with a good experienced scan!---then tell us

This happens to me now and then. I put the fob in, start the car, drive somewhere, take it out, lock the car using the fob, etc. Then, when I come back to the car later, it almost always works again just like it use to. Don't know why.
