2014 E63 trans is the same way ... A little jerky in sport on take off only when having just come to a stop
Also a little "grunt" and grind when taking off aggressively in C mode...
Nature of the beast, there won't be a fix

too bad, i'm optimistic by nature, hoping that they will fix this...and everything you said is right on the money.

I drive almost exclusively in S mode, as I find the "grunt" on take offs with comfort mode most annoying. I actually wish there was a comfort-2 mode that allows you to always start in first gear in comfort mode. Often in comfort mode I'll just blip the paddle to downshift into first before a take off

I'm hoping too, though I think it'll come by way of new hardware in future interations of the mct...

OPTIONS OPTIONS OPTIONS
Awesome! I have the opportunity to buy one that is coming in but it has the 19in rims, like you I prefer the black 20in multi-spoke. If you don't mind me asking, did you have to buy the new rims after market? Or did the dealer throw them in?

I bought the black 20-inch RIMS from Mercedes Parts, special ordered from Germany. Paid over $9K for the wheels and $270 each for hub caps.

Edition 1s (at least in the US) are all "cookie cutter" cars. That means the whole configuration, color combo, options, wheels, etc. is all set in stone and that's the way you'll get it.

Protection for Magno alanite and other matte finishes
Does anyone think protection is needed for the Merc matte finishes? I have an Edition 1 S63 in magno alanite gray and although the dealer says it's hard enough without protection, since it cannot be waxed, is there anything else others have tried?
Thanks,

You can add the film if you want more peace of mind from rock chips.

Thanks, that was exactly what I was planning. I'm not so worried about rock chips but just bird stuff, tree sap, etc. The car came from the dealership with a couple of bird souvenirs already present (car had only 40 miles) and they came right off with Rain-X Bug and Tar Pre wash gel.
There is lots of drama on message boards about how difficult a matte finish is to take care of but to me it seems simpler, since no waxing allowed.

Personally if I were to get another matte car I'd just put some kind of a film on top and be done with it. It will cost a bit up front but not having to worry about a paint job is money well spent in my book.

I have my entire Scuderia and the front of my CL done in xpel ultimate and am very pleased with the results. I've also heard good things about Satinguard but I'm not sure how that would work on a paint surface that is already matte...

I have 1000 miles on my edition 1 s 63 coupe and it absolutely stutters after making a hard stop then gassing it. I had it visibly jerking im not so sure it is a tranny issue it was similar to the ferrari 360 accelerating from a stop it would sometimes violently jerk if not given enough gas i am contacting mbenz in the am.

Wish you luck, but if you get no where you may learn to module throttle a bit to avoid that neck snapping jerking, let us know what your stealership says
