Back on topic, I just spoke with the service manager today. They now say they did a ton of service upgrades and on the suggestion of MB Corporate (who they say is aware of this issue with other S63 Coupes) the battery should be replaced. When the main service tech checked the battery, he got an error message so they ordered a new battery and are replacing it but it won't be in until next Tuesday.
Anyone else have any updates on their cars or whats going on with them?

[QUOTE=fulmitz;6567482]I just had the same thing. My S63 coupe is 2015 and I'm the 2nd owner. It had 622 miles when I bought it CPO. They said the previous owner returned it due to a nav issue that they resolved but he wanted a whole new car. Now I'm wondering if that was true.

No worries. Hopefully with the software updates and the new battery all will be fine with the car.

Anyone know if these stalling incidents are only occurring in Eco mode ?
About a week ago my CLS63S had a hiccup after restarting from an Eco stop - it restarted then stalled momentarily. Luckily I didn't have an aggressive driver behind me else I might have been rear ended. That feature is now getting turned off whenever I start the car. I'm pretty sure it also killed the battery after only one year - it was replaced free of charge by MB Roadside.
They really need a setting to disable ECO on startup; I assume it must be the startup default setting from the factory in order to meet some ridiculous gas mileage criteria.

Heisenberg,
Both times my engine stalled, I was in sport mode. Still waiting to get my car back.

Well I guess it's not an issue related to the gas-saving, battery killing engine cut off 'feature' then.
Keep us posted, fulmitz. While this probably only affects a small percentage of the cars sold, it is a significant problem with major safety implications... MB really needs to get to the bottom of it and do a recall for a definitive software and/or hardware fix. Hope you get it back soon.

sounds like a fuel sending issue. not really a big deal a lot of new cars have these issues since they sit for so long until its finished. my mercedes benz dealer takes care of me on all my amg cars. but look into the trade option as well! s65 would be sweet!

Apologies in advance for the long-winded post...
I’ve been having a similar experience to you fulmitz regarding the software updates. Germany have provided a number of software updates they wanted done along with a whole lot of decoding instructions they wanted carried out. As the dealership have been able to hold on to my car for as long as they needed, they’ve had the time to run tests post-upgrades.
Unfortunately the post upgrade tests have shown that the problem hasn't been fixed.
I too have bought many cars from my dealership over many years and have never had a problem with them.
Even though this experience hasn’t been the best (in so far as ordering a car that has given me so much grief in the short time I’ve had it), every other car I’ve bought from Mercedes and this dealership in particular has been the usual experience… GREAT! So looking at another brand was never an option, instead - I’ve decided to move up to the S65.
I’m in the process of ordering an S65 with Cavansite Blue exterior, Black/Saddle Brown Exclusive Nappa Leather Interior with carbon fibre trim, Magic Sky Control roof & I may even go ‘ostentatious’ with the Swarovski crystal headlights. No offence if you have the Swarovski crystal. Lighthearted joke. Trust me, I like the crystals and I'm seriously considering them.
If all goes well with getting my order in, I may be looking at a March-April 2016 delivery.
I hope everyone else having this problem is being looked after. If I have any other/further updates, I’ll let you know.

Well, the flatbed just left with the 63 coupe for the second time due to the same computer issue. Next time this happens I am going to have a bonfire consisting of a Diamond White coupe. We will be having beer and chips.

I just got my car back this afternoon. They did 4 software updates and put in a new battery. The dealer says they can't seem to replicate my issue. I left and made a u-turn and the car felt like it was going to die. It didn't but if felt like the transmission wasn't going into gear as I had slowed down during the u-turn and then hit the gas to accelerate out of the turn, the car felt like it was still decelerating. I called immediately and notified the service manager and they asked if I wanted to bring it back. I decided to try it for the weekend and see how it goes.
Since they only had it once I guess they have 2 more goes before I return it permanently. I hope its fixed as I really do love the car.
Sala, good luck with your new car. The S65 is awesome! I just can't justify another 80k on top of what this car cost me. Just not there yet. If I do get rid of this, I may just get an AMG GT-S.
I'll keep you all posted!

Had the same issue and nobody had any clue what was going on. I talked to somebody at an aftermarket shop about it, and they pointed me to the problem, and Benz has actually known about it for a while. The issue is that the software between the trans and the engine aren't communicating properly. The after market guy pointed me towards a tech that actually knew something, it took a previous tech 4 full days too finally realize I had an after market exhaust, to give you an idea what we are working with. So now they have my car and they are telling me that Benz won't have a software update out til about the middle to late December. To say Im pissed is an understatement.

Hello all,
No luck with my car, team came out from Germany , replicated the problem but can't seem to fix it.
Still cuts off at low speeds.
Dealership refunded my purchase. However they still trying to resolve the issue.
Will let u know if they find a fix.
Cheers!

Gas? I got bad gas from a Shell in Central NJ owned by retards that were found guilty of putting regular into their Premium tanks. The car would stall out, turn on and then stall out. Similar to your issue. I don't see what else could be wrong unless the car was misfiring. Try a octane booster! Luckily I had one in my car and that got me through my tank.

sorry to hear such problem occur but on a different note, I've personally dealt with that with my Volvo S40 where when I make a U-Turn, the engines shuts off completely its as if I removed the key from the car...
Fortunately I just disconnected the battery overnight and it never happened since...
Am not sure if electrical is also part of the problem... for what I know, you guys are equipped with the lighter carbon fiber batteries in your S-Class (pls correct me if am wrong) so am not sure if that is also contributing to the problem. cars nowadays are equipped with too much computers on board so I can just imagine your S-Class. it takes a toll as well on the electrical system. am not sure if you're steering is also electrically assisted because so far as what I've read, there are those when they turn, the car dies down. maybe its drinking a lot of juice from the battery that is shuts down hence no fault code because no electricity to record to begin with... maybe just maybe, not a mechanic here but maybe it would make sense...
so I guess I'll be going for the S500 Coupe (its just 500 for us outside US)
