S63 AMG - reliability & pricing

Question for you knowledgeable fellows -

I'm considering getting a 2014 s63 amg and I'm trying to learn as much as I can before pulling the trigger. I already have a panamera turbo, and I test drove the s63 and it's pretty close in terms of fun torque...

So -

1) I'm seeing prices for used 2013 s63 amgs with pretty good options for mid $75-80. When do the 2014's drop to that price range? December? Next summer? When the my 2017 comes out?

2) How much do these cars cost to maintain in terms of repairs? I'm aiming to get about 3 yrs factory warranty and hopefully 3 more extended. Assuming 15k miles per year, when warranty ends the car will be at 7*15 = 105K miles and 7 years old. What would the average repair budget be at that point? Is this a car you can keep until the wheels fall off (assuming I budget a few grand a year for repairs)?

Thanks so much. I'm excited about this car!

The reason 2013s are that low is because it's the previous (221) body style... 2014 63s won't drop to 70s for another few years. Probably not until the facelift in MY2018 at the very earliest.

Thanks. Hey I see you're familiar with the panamera and the s550. You think an s550 is quick enough to scratch the itch (coming from a ptt), or only the s63 feels like "damn that's fast"?

Any insight on reliability/cost as the s63 amg ages?

Thanks!

I drive my sedan prioritizing comfort over power, hence my choice of the 550 and not the 63 (and the firmer suspension that comes with). With that said, I find the 550 to be more than fast enough for everyday use. It's still a biturbo V8 with over 500ft-lbs of low end torque, but it doesn't feel that fast because of how quiet and stable the car is, much like my Ghost was.

You're not going to get the same sound or all-out power of a 63, but an exhaust and ECU tune can go a long way toward that...

Neither the 550 nor 63 will handle as well or give the same steering feel/precision I loved so much about the Panamera though.

The M157 engine itself has been proved to be fairly reliable over the years, but it's hard to say about long term reliability on a platform that's only been out two years.
