New S65 at MB Research Center Tech Day

I took a photo of the new S65 next to my 600 at Mercedes' Research Center in Sunnyvale during their Press Day.

That's not a 600 Grosser/Pullman is it? If it is I'd rather have the 600 over the S65 lol. S65 is really nice but in 10 years it will be worth only 10-15% of what its worth unlike the 600 Pullman/Grosser which is a part of MB history and is highly sought after now as a collectable

Thanks! I think the MB engineers and AMG test drivers liked it as well. I let one of the AMG drivers take it around the center for a spin. He was impressed with the way it drives for a 43 year old car designed in the early 1960s.

Well, growing up in Germany I saw 600's being sold for next to nothing as well when they were in 10-15 years old. Much of the appreciation occurred over time and from international deals...

Yes, indeed Wolfman. I purchased mine a decade ago for the price of a then C class. It's its regular maintenance where the 600's cost adds up. Nonetheless, it's current value seems to have at least more than tripled today. Mine was one of the last 600's legally imported into the U.S. in 1972.
