VIDEO (race-cam) The Beast kills Porsches at Eastern Creek,SYDNEY
Here is a link to a 1.5 lap segment of a race-cam video, which I took from the E55 at the Eastern Creek, Sydney circuit last week.
Observe as I exit the main straight into Turn1 there are several cars in the distance, 1/4 mile away. I close in on a red Ferrari, a silver Carrera and a black Porsche Turbo.
The Ferrari lets us pass and the two Porsches try to stay in front, putting up a bit of a struggle. Back on Turn 12, I exit behind the Turbo at 50mph, put my foot down to the floor and reel-in the black Porsche inside 1/4 mile down the main straight, reaching 135 mph. a quick tap on the brakes and into Turn1 at 100mph, accelerate to 110, hard brake before a sharp left hairpin (photo below shows tight cornering at 50mph), exit to the right, overtake a Caterham and chase the silver Carrera.
I later overtook the Carrera down the main straight just like I did the Turbo.
Enjoy the VIDEO and turn up the volume!

Further adding fuel to my lifelong quest to prove the Beast is a decent handling car...again, NOT an M5, but NOT a minivan either.
THANKS for that. !!!

Enjoyed the video, especially the 1/4 stretch passing the Porsche.

Gotta Love It!
Rafal - Nice Video! I noticed that you never had to counter steer while turning the car, those new tires must really stick! - Bob

Very nice video. That black Porsche just totally ran out of steam when you hit the end of the straight. Also, you were driving much better lines than those Porsches as well.
Next stop for you my man is to get some sponsorship, go mod the hell out of an E55 and put it in Bathurst next November! Now that I would like to see - a full blow race E55 up against the Holdens and Fords. I reckon it would be possible to have a credible race car on the mountain!

I don't know if it's my end or putfile just totally sucks butt. I've tried several times today and haven't been able to get to the video. Someone needs to upload it somewhere else. Once I get it I'll host it somewhere as well.

No tyre squeal, no ESP orange light flashing, no overheated brakes until pit lane, and back to the track in 40 minues as good as new. 5 x 9-lap sessions,
4km/2.5mi per lap. Average lap time just under 2 min with heavy traffic

While the performance of the two are similar I just could not get over all you E55 guys breaking your arm patting yourselves on the back at an E55 overtaking a 996 tt. We have no idea what the details are of the track event but the 996 driver is obviously not an experienced track driver.
The only way a stock E55 can overtake a stock 996 tt on a track is with a very poor driver like the one driving the black Porsche. You can clearly see it from the video, his lines are terrible. Even though the E55 makes more HP the horsepower to weight ratio - a much better performance indicator favors the Porsche.
A stock 996 - 8.81
A 996 w/ x 50 pkg - 8.13
E55 - 9.04
Face it guys our e55's are pigs and are certainly not sports cars or track cars. Don't get me wrong, I love the cars but you guys are dreaming if you think our cars in stock form will outperform sports cars. The e55 comes in at around 4243 lbs and a 996 tt is around 3659lbs.
Love the car but guys at least tell it like it is.
