W203 Black exterior door handles
Hi
Just fitted a full set of colour coded door handles to my 2005 W203. I have found lots of threads of how to replace the front doors but not the rear. Thought I would post a how to for the rear doors. Here goes:
1. Pull back the door seal to reveal a blanking plug. Remove the plug.
2. Using a T20 torque driver, turn the screw anti-clockwise until the small part of the handle becomes loose enough to remove. This screw is left hand thread and to release the small part of the handle you have to wind the screw in.
3. Remove the handle by sliding it in the direction of the now empty space that the small part was and then pull out.
4. Remove the seals and clean paintwork.
5. Replace in reverese order.
Once I'd worked out how to remove one handle the other took 10 minutes max. Whole car could be done in 30 minutes.
NOTE: The T20 torque driver I was using wass'nt long enough to reach the screw so I had to cut the lower part of the driver handle down so it would reach. If you have an expensive driver I would recommend buying as longer one as possible.
Easy

i think that when I did this back in summer of 2004,
the handles were around $40 each.
Don't remember too well.
That thread should still be around somewhere...
I'll see if I can find it and link it here.

This is the guy I bought the handles from. Its all in German I know but if you email him he will respond in English. The handles were genuine and he gets top feedback. Worth a try for all parts its seems.
