Coding for W205...Blue DRL.

Hi dear.

For W205, daytime running light is present. This is in Japan, its disabled.
However, if ,want this feature to "ON(enable)" in the coding(Vediamo).
Where is the its parameters?
And, Blue light DRL exists.
This is, in Europe and the US standard?
For blue color changes, and should be changed where the parameters?

Regards...

Good question. I guess there are 2 parts to it:

1 is the hardware consistent between those markets that do, and those that don't
2 (and the more difficult) would be to get a print of all the coding parameters for cars with and without to establish what would need changing. Not sure who would be able to do this as there don't seem to be any after-market code systems around for MB - for VAG you have VCDS which gives the amateur market access to all the detail at low price. Not aware of anything similar.

There is no specific SA code for this feature, if it were it would be an easy retrofit.

You would need to change the vehicle SAcoding to a different market to change the entire lighting pattern and functions, however this could cause other issues with future coding of different control units.

just like LED's,
I miss my "beeps" vs "honk" when locking the door.
In some markets, you could simply enable in star because the hardware was there, but in others it didnt have the speaker.

What!? Our Canadian c-class don't have a honker when locking the door?

Wow really? It's an option that's on by default in the vehicle settings menu. Check to see if yours is turned off?

the setting for US cars is called Acoustic Lock Feedback or something. if it's On, you get the horn when locking. if it's Off, you get no sounds

Hi
I have a C250 amg line equipped with intelligent light system, but there's an issue i'd like to know about.
I've seen that the vehicles equipped with ILS have the blue welcoming lights, but mine doesn't... Does exist a way to have them, like something related to OBD coding? Because in the equipment list of my c250 says "blue illumination deactivated"... so it seems like my car has it, but it isn't enabled... thanks

I noticed something weird while I was driving. It bothers me little. I notice it when I see the reflection of my car on the car that are in front of me. Its something that I look at everyday

My Car has Heterochromia
My left LED headlight is a little blu-ish compared to the right headlight. Also My left headlight was replaced after an accident with an OEM from Europe. I don't have the ILS lights, but I have the LED headlights.

What you guys think? would it get fixed overtime?
I thought I was imagining it

dear all forum menber...
I would like to thank everyone's opinion. thx :-)

By the way, about BLUE DRL.
Welcome effect when the door lock off?
It might be correct? (I do not get a conviction)

However, possible to blue light it at all times by coding.
In daytime running. DRL might be able to shine blue.

Requires a change in vehicle codumentation (VeDok) as well as a SCN coding on at least SAM front module and maybe the light modules if possible.

Dealer coding is only designed to code back to factory spec. We are very limited, our coding consists of the diagnostic computer connecting to Germany, getting the most up to date coding info for that VIN, and applying it to the car. We don't have the option to enable options from other countries or what have you. Gotta find someone with a developer mode enabled SDS clone system, and see what can be done.

Is there a way to get a developer mode system in English???
I hear you can only get them in German...

I have a chinese clone system that has developer mode, but in older cars yes it's in german for a lot of things. That's more a function of the car than the system, as the cars computers are all programmed in german. Some things are translated, but you can usually figure it out with some quick google translate.

I dont know how the US market works, but it must be possible for dealers to edit the SA-codes or they wouldnt be able to install and code new control units.

Every control unit is working with SA codes, the unit is empty before install and then it is loaded with the vehicles specific SA codes using Xentry to activate the corresponing functions in the unit.

If something is retrofitted or removed, the extra SA-code is added or subtracted to the Daimler servers though a computer software VeDok, then it is possible to code the vehicle thus adding or removing a code within 10 mins.

Developer mode was applicable to DAS only - and yes only in German. Support for the C Class within DAS stopped with the 204. The 205 needs Xentry and you will need an online account to make any big changes or to download software to the car. Apparently there's developer level CBF files which have key-unlock data built in and are used in the factory and you could use those with Vediamo (btw - these are not the same CBF files you find on your Xentry or DAS directories; Good luck trying to get a copy is all I can say).

In any case, like Vic said - if you make changes to your config and VeDok is out of sync- you will get the old config written back to the car whenever you go visit your dealer and they run a module update. If you want a permanent change, you'll need to find someone to do it in VeDok for you. Visit MHH (there's people there who will sell you that service, although I'd be very wary of that kind of stuff)

My dealer has contacted with Germany last week to remove the K30 from the VeDok. We are waiting for the approval from Germany to code the vehicle.

If they are an authorized dealer they must be able to do this themselves, it is a 2 minute job, including login.

with assistance from germany or other senior technician, my dealership finally managed to code the blue drl on the third visit and it is working perfectly now, so it is possible. They never mentioned any reason why it did not have the function by default nor did I for that matter, I just requested them to do it and they did it at no additional cost

So do all cars have it in all markets? And it just needs the k30 code activated? Something I could persuade my dealer to do?

I'm sure all cars with LED Intelligent Light System (Option Code 641) have the capability. Cars with LED High Performance headlamps (static LED, Option Code 631) or Halogen lamps would not.

In the end I'm not sure if it was just a matter of removing K30. I will inquire with the dealer again when I visit
