Question Requesting DAS Instrument Cluster Help

I recently installed an OEM Command Navigation in my wife's 08' R350. Every thing works great within the Navigational unit, but I don't see directions or street names displayed within the Instrument Cluster. We've taken it to our independent shop, who said it can't be done. I'm having a difficult time believing that "it can't be done"; especially when the "owner's manual" has a section that shows exactly what I am requesting them to do (displayed navigational information within the instrument cluster).

So, what I'm asking for are the actual "step by step instructions" on version coding our 08' R350 to "Nav Present" or what ever else is necessary, to get directions and street names to show up in the instrument cluster. If not "step by step" instructions, then something that will lead my independent shop/technicians in the right direction. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all who reply...

Plutoe: Thanks for your reply. I understand it's not to hard to do. But your reply does not help my issue, because I'm sure the independent shop "could have" done that. And since the "stealership" here will not make the change/update because it was not originally installed equipment, I'm having a hard time getting this version coded. Which is why I'm asking for "step by step" instructions. If I knew someone else in the area who had a Star or DAS system, I would gladly go to them. Currently I have very few choices. so, I'm still looking for "step by step" instructions... Thanks again....

No, not exactly... If you view this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/r-class-w...t-cluster.html You will see, this has been accomplished by another member with the same issue. But, I still don't have information on how to "exactly" complete this request.

I visited my local Mercedes Dealership, and they would not attempt it. If you have additional information that would help. It would be greatly appreciated...

I recently retrofitted my E class with the command, I will review the procedure I used with my Star to code the instrument cluster to accomplish what you are looking for, it has been a few months so I need to research what I did. .

Anyone know where to buy the Star system needed to make config changes like this at home? Kind of like the old VagCom for Audi? U want to make COMAND and other custom changes myself...
