Im in the business of choosing a good spark plug for my e500 with the m113 engine. As we all the there are quit good preformance and mpg gains to be had with the right spark plugs, gap and nm. Which plugs do you guys use and how do you gap them?

Out Of Control!!
I would sell the gasser and get a diesel. Then you can spend less time looking for parts and more time with the family!!---However even with that there maybe one Benz W spammer who may try to convince you to put spark plugs in a diesel--be watchful!!

MBWorld Fanatic!
I use AutoLite Iridium plugs. Quite happy with them, and they're cheaper than the Bosch and NGK counterparts. More important than the spark plugs, are the spark plug wires. They break down before the plugs do.

New plugs
Just finished replacing the 16 plugs (Bosch Dbl Platinum) on the E500. Man! The Beast is back! Burned asphalt with 194k. What a difference. Going to Chevron tomorrow and afterwards may not tell if it's on or not.
I think not enough emphasis is made on guarding the coil Tork screws. Absolutely use a magnet and a strong torch. For a good part of this I had no light. Take the coils and plug wires off, and number them. For mine, the long wire always came forward. No need to disconnect the power connectors so you don't risk breaking them, plus the harness helps keep everything orderly. I learned to use a 5/8 drive almost exclusively for this job.
Did a little cleaning, no leaks. But there's a Tork screw laying on the pan, and a broken coolant reservoir.
