US GLS350d
Anyone have any updates on the GLS350 release for US deliveries? I actually have 2 orders for GLSs' open, a 350d and a 550. The GLS350 has been sitting in Alabama for almost 2 months while the 550 is slated to be built within the next 2 weeks and guaranteed delivery by the end of June. That was the compromise the dealer and I worked out but, still, pretty annoyed that I could've had the 550 by now had I gone that route originally.
Also, the dealer seems absolutely clueless about the diesel issue. I've learned more about it from this forum than any other source... So, what's the latest news???

Same for me, I have Order 2017 GLE43. Should arrive end of summer. Hopefully the 350 will be ready by that time. Was thinking 550 but really don't want to gas up so often.
This is what's new so far

My dealer said not to hold our breath and nothing being mentioned at all by Mercedes Benz Canada, looks like not until December, so nothing changed here...looks like I will stick with the 450 order

Thanks, I will ask my dealer here in Vancouver about it.
Are you able to PM me who is your dealer ? I might go down and purchase one.
Have you decided on picking up 350 or 550 ?

Currently in Canada now on vacation and I've seen plenty of gl350s with the amg package... Would've been easier to go with the 350 if the U.S. had that option.

Cool, please let me know if you see the GLS350d in person. My dealer still has no clue of when the diesel will show up. Did your dealer told you the diesel been certified by EPA already ?

I was at my dealer briefly this morning and asked my CA about the GLS350d. He said that they have been released and most to dealers here in the northeast. Their sister store a few miles away just had 1 delivered and he is expecting 3 at his location in another week or so. He also mentioned a dealer down south is asking $3k over sticker as they're the only ones in the area w/ one. I'm hoping they cool down a bit in the next few months. Plan is to place an order in October, getting exactly what I want would sticker in low to mid $70's. Time it right for December delivery to take advantage of end of year incentives.

I'm also in the Boston area but I've been waiting for delivery of my GLS 350 in Maine. I contacted my salesperson earlier and she indicated thiat based on what she can see the car is still in a hold pattern. is your information confirmed? Which dealership has the car in the lot?

The whole situation is unique and exceptional - and still very/very cloudy.
NetStar shows ZERO GLS350d at any dealer across the ENTIRE US.
At this moment ALL GLS350's that have been produced at the beginning - end-Feb thru end-April - ALL show as they have been at VPC.
One post mentioned Gainesville - which shows one at VPC.
"Most" dealer websites are automated to show vehicles once they are dealer invoiced by Mercedes to the dealer after they are shipped out from VPC.
Websites for Gainesville and Westwood MA - if either fits the "most" category - do not show GLS350d.
"Normally" when a MB shows "VPC ready" and "label printed" that means that unit will ship soon/few-days.
In the case of GLS350d at VPC ALL of those units have been "VPC ready" and "label printed" for many weeks - so that might throw off a inexperienced person who checks NetStar for a particular rig.
No GLS350d has been dealer invoced as far as I can check.
Curiouser and curiouser - - from what I see this is still in the hands of the Feds - who are still on diesel sabbatical over the whole VW mess.
I am not saying this is gospel - I am just sharing the factual NetStar info I see this evening at my level.
NetStar updates again Monday - but again I see the same info that your dealer see's - and one level deeper.
It's in the hands of the CarGod's .. if I had a wish.. that public and political opinion over passenger diesel who acknowledge reality - that Diesel Is Clean - and Gasser's are smudgier offenders.
Keep the beat !
