I am looking to get a set of MBH LTH for a 2003 CLK500

I believe they are the same as the LTH for the CLK55

If any forum members who have installed these on their

CLK500 could share your thoughts it would be greatly

appreciated - positive or negative

Thank-You
D.B.

We have installed a pair on a c55 for a customer. Its time consuming. They do make a great product.
What are you planning on doing for cats and rest of the exhaust? And a tune?

CDM how do your headers perform compared to the mbh lt headers? I see the price difference is substantial thats why I ask.

Supercharged CLK500 & ML500
I love my set, the only problem I have with them is that you can't pass smog so you have to either know a smog guy or install the oem exhaust (costly because install/removal is labor intensive).

My impressions are in my thread below:

Of course it will.. Nearly all developed nations have some sort of vehicle testing even if its just emissions. The ever more powerful Green lobby will see to that !! LOL!

We have to pass this every year! https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...7-vehicles.pdf So think yourself lucky! But we also have some of the safest and cleanest (emissions wise) vehicles on the road statistically so its not all bad. I used to not care but now I have a son it would be quite nice to have a habitable planet left for him......Oh and for him not to die in a horrible crash where no one had ever checked the brakes or the structural integrity of the cars!! LOL!

The MHB headers are better performance wise.
ours dyno'd at a 14hp gain

ours will bolt in with no mod, theirs you will need the rest of the exhaust, cant pass smog and will need a tune to turn off rear 02 sensors so you dont have a cel.

Depending on your goals with the car and your budget on what your best choice will be

I'm going to do headers and straight pipe all the way back to quad tips. Because screw emissions.

Yeah great idea. Who needs any back pressure or the nice usable low down torque that comes with it. Not to mention the drone you will get at highway speeds or the peace and quiet of your neighbours!!

I actually like the drone of the straight pipe. And the neighbors will get over it.

I have headers and a pretty open exhaust. I have an x-pipe and a 2/2 muffler with x-pipe in the channel.

You will have drone and if you drive on the interstate with the windows up for more than 10 mile trips, you will not like the drone.... I've measured as much as 98 db (in the cabin) when accelerating to pass quickly.

But....... I just got my clamp on resonator/muffler ready for marketing. I've worked to perfect the resonator for over 2 years and spent the past 5 months perfecting it as a silencer. I've initiated help to commercialize and have help looking for a back door into an OEM. More to come in a separate thread after I take a week or 2 off.
