E63 AMG Wagon?
Hi folks, currently I have a 09 S550 and Im looking to add something with some space, looking around the E63 AMG Wagons, they seem to be a bad *** wagon, I think I can pick a 13-14 model between 58K to 64K.
In your opinion are this wagons worth the investment? Pros and Cons?

Have you driven an Amg v8 with the mct transmission? If not you should do an extensive test drive and make sure you like it
It won't be as smooth in stop and go city traffic as the s-class
Other than that the e63 is an amazing vehicle ... Not any cons I can think of but I'm biased ... Oh it's not as fast as an M5 from a roll

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Whose gonna say these cars are not great, your on a AMG forum, but they really are great. I've had mine for about 3.5 years now and been a really good car. Throttle response takes some getting use to as has been discussed, it's a learned art form it seems and the ride is pretty harsh, but those are my only 2 complaints, rims are a little soft, have to be careful of potholes, kinda depends on where you live.

One major con, at least for me, for the E63 wagon in the US is they shove the pano roof down your throat. I will totally go for a E63 wagon if it has a regular sunroof or plain metal roof.

What do you mean about throttle response (I guess I should look up previous posts on it ). Is there a delay? Is the pedal hard? Does acceleration feel stressed?
I test drove a e63S sedan last year and it was equipped with "active" seats (bolsters tightened up on sharp turns) is that feature standard or an option?
How is the wagon's feel, does it feel more sedan large or sports "car-ish" ?
What about ground clearance (really just for snow drifts)? Can the vehicle's height be raised?
What's the real awesome or cool thing about owning/driving this car... and the big pia thing?
Thanks

500hp and not having good response is very interesting How can that be possible?
This is a good review that I found if is worth anything

There's long thread re: lag.

I have one of the last wagons built, and while I don't have the problems as bad as what other people experience, there definitely is some weird hesitation at various times. Fortunately, I don't have the delay from a stop that people have found dangerous for left turns. I definitely have noticed that learning how to drive this transmission is a key factor. It's not like an automatic, and it's not like a dual clutch.

The E63S is a large car. In spite of this, it handles very well. It feels like you are driving a mid-sized sport sedan. Ground clearance is an issue. I find the 360 degree camera a blessing so we don't replace front air dams as we did on our Volvo V70R's. We also purchased a "Mudder" (an Audi SQ5) to drive on unpaved, snowy or flooded roads due to the low ground clearance of the E63. I doubt that you would want to drive an E63 in deep snow. As an analogy, my V70R wagon (similar ground clearance) became a snow plow any time the snow was over 6-7 inches deep.

A new SQ5 is in your price point. While not an AMG, I find mine very enjoyable to drive. My daughter has a Porsche Macan and loves hers but I found the Audi had better storage and was quite a bit less expensive. You may wish to take a test drive - it is the end of the model year and I'll bet they are discounting "left over" SQ5's quite a bit. I don't know that it matters in pricing but only 6-7% of Q5's are the "S" series. I bought mine last year and got a very respectable discount off MSRP even though it was only May.

Couldn't agree more with Cliff -- learning how to drive this transmission is key --- I feel quite safe and comfortable in my car since sprintbooster
