Killer Chiller and 77mm Pulley Installed
Guys,
Plenty of threads on this but just another "bump" on it from my chair.
KC is a "must mod" IMHO (based on how I use the car). I drove it pretty hard last night. Maybe 10+ pulls from various speeds. Got home, popped the hood to feel how much heat was coming from the engine and made my way to the Engine Bay Tank which had some condensation on it. Touched it to see how hot it was. Put my finger on quick (dramatic change in temp) and pulled it off. It wasn't HOT. It was cold like putting your finger in a freezer...
My only gripe is the 77mm fixed s/c pulley was making (as described in previous threads) a rattle sound at idle (very odd). From what I read in here a custom tune solves this issue. That is in the plan anyway so all good.

It's going to rattle. The rotors are not "tight" against each other...so they rattle. now if the bypass is closed slightly so that there is pressure in the blower they quiet up a lot.

Going to +1 with the Original Poster. Just got my Killer Chiller up and running this week and it is a life saver! Have an 80 FSP, going to a 77 in the coming month. And I must say this is the perfect mod. I deleted the heat exchanger so I just have the lines, KC and IC. It still stays ice cold and that's without heat shielding on it yet. Very impressed with this mod and recommend it to all the 55k brothers. It was 75* this morning and cruising in at 80mph my IATs were at 59*.

The rotors never touch each other. The rattle is from the first and second gears in the s/c gear case. The rotors are fragile, but the gears are tough, they should be able to take it.

Thanks for those with "77mm fixed travels" weighing in. OK, I have an observation and theory. Tell me if I am nuts...
The car not as prone to spinning the tires (ESP light flash and MAJOR power reduction) in first gear as it was before (84mm clutched). Very surprising given more power...
Anyone experience this?
Only theory I have is that the s/c is always "on" and there is no harsh engagement.
Thanks,
TK

I have an EC TCU so it doesn't have the torque limiter in 1st like the stock one does. That being said mine with ESP off it will spin to 60mph. And with it on, it's pointless, it just cuts power and I feel I'm sitting there waiting for it to come back and then it just hurts when it does lol.

I also have a EC TCU. Complete opposite experiences.
