My 2013 E350 Coupe with custom ambient lighting
This has been my dream car for years and I finally bought it last year September with p1, p2, lane tracking, blind spot, parking sensors and xenon lighting. All my mods are cosmetic and I've done no performance upgrades. I've also begun dynamatting the entire car. Currently I have the doors, wheel wells, hood and trunk dynamatted
I had an 2012 E350 sedan and missed the ambient option, so I bought some kits from ebay and did my install. Lights are mounted in the front foot wells and on the upper portion of each door pocket so that you cannot see the actual light strip, only the glow. There is an access hole underneath the aluminum trim on the door that you can sneak the cable through. It is held on with 3m double sided tape. It's then ran through the door insulation, behind the dash, down the transmission tunnel and is plugged into the cigarette port in the back of the car. I was going to wire it into the car directly, but this allows for removal in the future without cutting into the cars wiring and would avoid any potential error codes in the dash popping up due to the voltage sensors detecting an overage, Some install pics of the lighting strips are in the final pic

Absolutely. A red car with orange side lights really clashed.
Clear lenses really dressed it up. Would do the same with a silver car.
Bulbs are orange and cannot be seen in ambient light. Only when they are lit.
Bought on eBay from a distributor named Fish..something. He's on eBay all the time. Great service. Reasonably priced.
Install directions are on this site

The door sills from from Gerry over at formymercedes.com. He's a really great seller and is very helpful. Its wired to the courtesy light on the door so it only comes on when the door is opened

I recently did an update where I cut these strips and put them above the door handles, in place of the amber light. I have another strip on the footwells and one in each door pocket. If you take off the aluminum trim on the door and the door card itself, there is just enough room in a whole to pass the strip through, so you don't have to cut anything. From there the wire for the strip on the door is ran through the door insulation, down the transmission tunnel and plugs into the rear cigarette port. I didn't wire it into the car so its removable and also to avoid any error codes popping up in the dash. If you need more help with it, feel free to ask. I love the lights, they're a little much, but still look great with sacrificing the luxury look of the car. Also the remote controls the color, light intensity and strobing modes

This is the Samsung SSD - https://www.amazon.com/DISCONTINUED-.../dp/B00RWXVRW8. My 2013 Comand has a 15000 song limit per partition, but no limit on partitions, that I know of
To get around that limit I created 4 different partitions on the drive, each 250gb, so 60k songs total.
