Newbie Here, Water in drivers footwell

Hello, I own a 1999 Mercedes Ml430 that Ive been driving the past 10 years and recently I noticed that after a rain storm my drivers side carpet is soaked, and Ive read previous threads about the issue and assumed that my sunroof drain may be clogged, however I would like to mention that after it rains water drips from under the lower left part of the dashboard. And from what Ive read on other threads is that the drain tube elbow may have disconnected or the rubber grommet has popped out of place. However when I looked under the dash I didn't see any rubber hose. Is there something I'm missing? any advice will be deeply appreciated

You will have to remove the "A" pillar trim and see if that area is wet.

Hi! Thanks for responding. I already checked the pillars and it doesnt seem to be wet or leaking in that area. The water comes from under the dash, and when i stuck my hand there I felt a very wet foam peice. Any ideas

I couldn't get a decent picture of the foam piece because its a tight gab just under the parking brake release but Ive found a thread with the same leaking area that I have.

Have you poured water in the sunroof channel as suggested in the above link?

I did consider pouring water in the sunroof channel, however I have the lamella roof and I don't want to take the risk of it not closing (sorry I'm a wuss) But from what I've read people mentioned there's a sunroof drain tube behind the fender and the grommet can pop into the interior and leak. I've also read there's a small tube that can disconnect and leak under the dash. Any info?

Well then, simulate a heavy rain by using a garden hose on the driver's side only.

Mr. Maj.Dundee..... I just stimulated a artificial rain storm by putting a garden hose by the front left corner of the lamella roof and I am definitely getting water in the drivers foot well from water dripping above the parking brake, I also checked the drain hose for any leaks on the pillars but they are dry. Does anyone know where or if there is a drain tube under the dash. I am confident that's where my problem is

There is no tube under the dash. What is happening is the drain hose (photos I posted in post #2) is either clogged or dislodged.

Your problem is you can't or will not open your Lamella roof.

Mr.Dundee, thanks! you are correct about the tube. I am sure the drain tube is dislodged, is there a way to fix this without taking the fender off?
