2010 E350 Luxury Sedan, Engine 272 (V6)
Keeping my 2010
Just went on the MB site and built a Luxury version with Prem. 1 package, which is closest to what I have now. MSRP+$61,000 vs. $53,000 in 2010. A few more safety features, but also some 2010 standard items removed.
Reinforces how much more I like my current car.

Anyway let's see the 17 models, i saw some videos and they look like C classes to me (interior is another story and looks really nice).
One thing i don't like with this car is, driver seat, i always find myself pushing those adjustment buttons here and there. Amazing to me that my daughter 14 passat is more comfortable for me, is that possible?
Is there anything i can do to make this better some how?

Every time I walk into my garage or across a parking lot and see my car, the more I like it. From the side and front, it is perfect. It looks like a premium, luxury, sports sedan.

Couldn't agree more. Love the V8 and just about everything else about the car. New models rear-end is plain ugly and the smaller engine is not for me. 76K miles now, warranty runs out at 125K, so at least 5 years to go before I need to consider a replacement.

2010 E550 reliability
I guess I have been extremely lucky based on what I have read on the forums, but I have had the following:
Other than that, she has been a dream, except for re-finishing the soft AMG mags a few times due to the terrible potholes in MA.
- Erratic behavior of driver's windows (does not close fully or closes fully, then opens up one inch) - replaced motor under warranty
- Airmatic system pump failed - replaced under warranty
- Rotors warping - replaced twice for free by MB (courtesy of my dealership)
- Twice the radio died (Comand system comes on but no sound) - just left it alone and the next day it was fine again

For the last 2.5 years and 20k miles (now at 71k 'ish), my warranty repairs have been comand knob and headlight assembly. Everything else has been regular maintenance and tire related.

for the past 3 years
1. powersteering leak (fixed while it was under warranty)
2. right front air strut replaced
3. cooling fan fell out from the bottom piece of drivers seat (still needs to be fixed)
4. warped rotors twice (fixed with centric rotors and pads from autozone)
other than that , cant complain. 93k miles.
p.s. since its lowered , uneven tire wear , inner part goes out faster a lil. (but its cuz i chose it to be this way so i shouldnt be complaining) )
luv it

Had the rear air springs replaced a under warranty.
Had both outside rear view mirrors replaced for not moving to different driver's position. If you are the only driver or you use only one seat position you might not know you have this problem.
Had one of the side radar sensors replaced for false alarms under warranty.
A/C blower fan / motor was replaced under warranty.
I did receive a software upgrade that enabled the audio streaming but it created an issue with random loss of audio. The software had to be reverted back one version and it fixed the issue completely.
Not bad in 7 years and 119 000 miles. This car is a tank...that still rattles inside. Rattles are the most annoying issue with this car other that the price tag buying those rattles...

I started to hear a ticking noise and I mentioned this to my SA. He then said they found the blower motor problem and replaced it.
I bought it used trading my brand new 2011 E350 in for it.
No issues with front struts so far. They have a known issue with the rear ones and the new springs I got should have it corrected.

I still have my 2010 E550 (22,000 miles). The car is pristine and drives better than ever. When the 212 first came out late in 2009 there was a strong emphasis made by Mercedes that the 212 was built like the older E's (Strong tank like and reliable).
And thus far, after 7 years, I concur with Mercedes. The leather seats in my car appear as new as the day I first took the car off the lot. It's not a soft supple leather, it's grainier and firm. I feel Mercedes cut cost in the interior of the 212 with cheaper quality plastics, however the mechanical build of the car is strong and I'll take that trade off any day.
Not being biased here but the front end of the 212 with the hockey stick lights is one for the ages. My favorite front end of any E class hands down. Enjoy your 550 fellas! it's a great machine.

I like the W212 much better than the W213. I also like the W204 better than the W205. The new ones have a lightness about them that does not feel like Mercedes. Also, the new flat-across dash they're using the the E and S looks horrendous to me. Reminds me of an 88 Caprice. The alternative, such as the W205, is the tacked on screen. Also a no go.
