keyless go sensor not working
I have a 2008 s550. the keyless go sensor is not working on the drivers door only.
It started not working intermittently, then stopped working completely. The other door sensors work fine. Do I have to replace door handle ? Can I replace sensor only? I am assuming that is what is wrong. any advise?
thanks Ray

I have the same problem with my 09 CLS. Started a few days ago and the drivers door keyless go won't respond to the key.

You can download pictures and sort them by date taken.
To remove handle - remove plastic/gum from door frame (when door is open) then you will see trox screw - use a key to unscrew and handle will go off. 3 mins job.
On my pics you can see I removed rear right handle using long trox key.

I can honestly say that I was skeptical at first, yet I tried anyway.
I'm glad I tried because the driver's door handle had not worked in at least 2 years and now it works beautifully with Maniek's instructions.

keyless door lock/unlock fix
I had an intermittent problem with the drivers side keyless entry on my 2008 S550. I downloaded maniekeS500 repair pictures, put them in chronologic order so I could follow them. I got the door handle apart and I found that the wire insulation was broken where the two wires are bent to tuck into two plastic hold-downs on the door handle (see picture). The breaks were hidden under the cloth covering the wires. Since the plastic insulation wasn't too broken (just enough for the wires to touch intermittently), I just put a piece of electrical tape around both wires to keep them from touching, pulled the cloth back over and pushed the wires back in the channels. If it happens again, I'll go ahead and solder the wires. The keyless lock and open function works fine now. Chock up another fix using the repair the wires technique! Thanks maniekeS500!!

keyless go
I'm trying to fix a non functioning driver's side door handle. I recognize the previous picture from this afterrnoon when I took the handle off. The wires for my connector looked fine so I don't think that's my problem. But what exactly is this picture showing? I don't recognize the connector.

keyless go
An update on my situation. My problem was like another one described where the driver's door handle was inoperative. I at first removed the lock as described in this thread, and the wires there looked fine. Today I removed the handle as well, and the two wires were exposed exactly like the picture above shows. I wrapped some small pieces of electrical tape around the small splits in the insulation and put everything back together and voila! my driver's side door handle now functions! It locks and unlocks just like it's supposed to do.
Once again, this forum came to my rescue.
Thanks, Leo
