Need help with C43 AMG issue

Hello, I am a new owner of an older 1998 AMG C43. The car has 159000 miles on it and runs beautifully. However recently I replaced the accelerator pedal sensor and the valve cover gaskets. Now the oil light is coming on and reading "hi" intermittently and I checked the oil and it was actually a quart low. The performance is still terrific, no overheating and since adding a quart of mobile 1 the engine sounds more like a Jet engine and distinctly different than before. Again, it runs great and my mechanic has no idea what it could be? Any ideas and advice would be appreciated!

Hi and welcome aboard this sometime nuthouse, but rest assured we don't bite (normally).
If you just purchased the C43 and it runs fine, just live with it. Some use a bit of oil which is normal for engines of this age, specially if you do a lot of highway driving and WOT.
By the way, why did you need to change the accelerator pedal sensor?
When you have time post to pics and give us some more details of your ride.

Thanks for your encoragement! The pedal sensor was causing the car to intermittently stall and have little or no acceleration once it would run. I bought it used on Ebay for 29.00 instead of 750.00 for a new one. That was a shock! So regarding this oil indicator reading "hi" and the level is actually a little low- just ignore it as long as it performs ok? What accounts for the incredible difference in sound (jet engine sound) when adding just one quart of Mobil 1? That also was a shock?

Make sure the airbox is properly seated on the intake! If its bypassed it will allow dust and debris into the engine. Can sometimes be a pain to get it to seal properly since it is only held in place by friction

Hopefully this image attached. Mercedes here wanted 750.00 for it, but I bought it online used for 29.00 and found them here as OEM new for 119.00.

Check out the price? This is a very expensive part, so expensive here, that on Ebay they sell if for even more than my mechanic can buy it for? Explain why this should be that much money?

I have to buy one every couple years. I go to a junk yard and buy used for $25. It's the same on all V6 and V8 cars from 1998 through 2002 or 2003 I think

The # you provided is an old # for "M104/M119", you don't have to use it, and it's more costly..!?!,,

the correct one you should to go with is "012 542 33 17", which is more more cheaper..!!

Thanks Zayed, I'll stick up on them and buy a few. How many miles can I get out of this beauty? I don't beat or spin wheels I just like driving fast on highways. It's 160k now and drives beautifully and so damned fast! I never had a car like this and I've had many cars.

It's not hyperbole: 160k miles really is nothing on these cars. They are extremely well made and if you take remotely decent care of it, you'll never see any big problems.
