LED Headlamp Confusion

LED Headlamp Confusion
I am pretty close to ordering a 2017 GLC300. The build I sent over to my dealer yesterday included the Premium 2 package along with a few individual options (sunroof, Burmeister, etc.). I did NOT add the LED Headlamp option for 2 reasons:
1) I had reviewed an older Dealer Order Guide where LED Headlamps were included in Premium 2, so it was in my thinking that I was covered.
2) If you look at the car's photo on the MBUSA site as you change options, the headlight image does in fact change from halogen to LED when you add the Premium 2 package (even if leaving the $850 LED Headlamp option unselected), so again my thinking was that I was covered.
Long story short, I never even noticed the stand-alone LED Headlamp option until messing around on the MB site today.
So can someone please confirm whether the extra $850 option needs to be added? The LEDs are a must for me.
It is not a problem, other than it would add cost, as I have yet to order the vehicle. But I would like to know for sure before calling the dealer as I have a couple of issues to negotiate yet.
Thanks in advance, John

I just check the dealer ordering guide(most recent version, updated on 8/24) and neither p1 nor p2 include led headlamps. They are a standalone option, and active led headlamps come with p3. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick follow up. I will have to let the dealer know on Monday to modify my build. I am glad I stumbled over this tonight or I would have been really disappointed when picking up the car (and it would have been 1 of the 1st things I would have noticed).

Yes, I did add the heated steering wheel from the start. I think my oversight was based on looking at the older dealer order guide, plus the fact that I have a 2016 C300 with Premium 2 which does include the LED headlamps, plus the fact that the photo does in fact change when you select Premium 2 for the GLC. You know what they say about assumptions!

Ultimately, it was seeing the photo change when adding Premium 2 that "convinced" me that the lights were different in the Premium 2 package.

You don't need to get PP3 pack for LED Headlamps. Just ask for 632 factory code. It is a single option. PP3 gives you Full HighBeam LED.

I have full LED, active lights, on auto, totally unbelievable , best lights I have ever driven with. Not sure of the added cost in USA, but I would go for the " one with the lot" for LED lights.
Good luck

Likewise, I had the Intelligent Light System on our GL and it was the first option I ticked on our GLC. The full works is an amazing system and works really really well on our unlit twisty back roads and unlit motorways.

Tekno is right on. The intelligent led headlights are incredible. My favorite option. Will not own another vehicle without them. To anyone who is on the fence, get off, and order them. You'll be glad you did.

Agree with all the comments relating to the LED lights. They are noticeably better than the Mercedes Bi-Xenons on our W204 and are still the best mainstream lighting available.
The only lighting system that may be better is the Laser based lighting available on some top end Audi's and BMW's.

I know Euro ILS on W166 is different to USA ILS (as i've had to change one over from USA to EU) and have just got my 2017 Euro car with full LED headlights
The Headlamp Assist Plus is stunning. It uses the lead headlights to effectively block out the car in front and on-coming (like a black box!) whilst keeping everything else alight.
(noticably better than my W166 with ILS)
I don't know if USA cars get all of that (if they don't it will be legislation differences..)

Is it bad of me to want the winter weather to hit the UK so I can drive back from work in the dark and experience the adaptive LEDs? Since having the car for 2 months I've only driven it once at night and liked the lights but need a bit more experience!

Not sure in other regions, but in the UK you can't have ILS without it. But ultimately the automatic full beam is just that automatic full beam. The ILS does a lot more by shaping and directing the lights. Interestingly I find that with ILS you have actually less need for the automatic full beam as it is so good as it is. But where we live with so much wildlife as in Deer, Muntjac, Wallaby, Mara, and Foxes it is really useful.

It's confusing the LED lights are different fro the Adaptive Headlights and are available in Package 3 ($7,200) WE have it on both of our vehicles. SUper Bright. I can't actually see when driving regular halogen lights it looks dim and yellow.

I am also confused by this headlight differential. On the build-it site, you can add the option of Led Headlights, but in the brochure I was given, it offers a "lighting package" that is described as Active Full Led Headlamps with high beam assist as a stand alone. When I sat down on Friday at the dealership, however, it was said I had to get the P3 package, which adds a lot of tech along with it, but not sure I want to pay for all that. Why list it in the brochure as an option if it isn't? (And I wish they had the hands free tailgate lift - foot under the bumper- as a stand alone - pretty short-sighted to not. But the only way to get that is to add a $1500 park assist option).
