2016 GLC 300
20" Bridgestone Run Flats. Vibration

First post here.

Here in US I was one of the first to receive a GLC 300 back in early December 2015.

Came with Bridgestone HP Dueler Sport Run Flats 20" (ON NOW) 32Psi
20-inch AMG MULTISPOKE (Black)

Car vibrates after 75mph... Slight vibration on the steering wheel...These tires have been changed over 10 times here at my dealer by warranty.

From Bridgestone first.. to Pirelli Scorpion RUN FLATS (made my car feel STRONG vibrations at any speeds) were changed then to...
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (NOT RUN FLAT)which to me where best.
But then Dealer installed them misaligned; by 4,000.00 miles tires were eating away wrong due to misalignment.

So Manager got me back on the Bridgestone HP Dueler Sport Run Flats, because Michelin after 14 sets of trial and error(TWO WEEKS WITH A LOANER), were always vibrating...and he knew I will not receive car back.

I would think a GLC 300 2016 would glide through a smooth expressway here in South Florida...I want to have a floaty feeling.

Now I have the Bridgestone HP Dueler Sport Run Flats 20" and Im not 100% happy due to not having a smooooooth ride above 75mph.

Mercedes Benz - The Best or nothing right?

Any thoughts??

Thank you!

Very simple solution for you if you want comfort. Get the 18" wheels. The bigger the wheel is the more you will fell the road.

They've been changed 10 times??? No dealer in their right mind would do that. And it's impossible to install a tire "misaligned." It sounds to me like you either have a bent wheel, or somebody doesn't know how to balance a tire. Also ANY mb with larger wheels/smaller sidewalls will have edgewear. It's a trade off for having excellent highway stability due to caster angle.

I had edge wear on front left tyre, it turned out front end alig was out, actually the other 3 were a bit out as well.
Ask for a printed readout of 4 wheel align, it shows before and after.
Also consider on car wheel balancing of each tyre, as opposed to off car wheel balance.
We died the "feathering" on leading edge wear, much better and no pulling to left.
The car does skip a bit on uneven roads, but I put that down to design, more than tyres. We run 20" Pirelli run flats.

I have 19" Conti MOEs. No issues with them except that on delivery they were somewhat overinflated (42PSI or so) - made the car quite "nervous" over bad pavement and minor potholes. Once I reduced the (to 36PSI all around), ride was much better.

Vibrations at high speed definitely speak to wheel balance, and this will be more critical with larger wheels. If you wanted a floaty feeling, 20" wheels (although they must look really sharp) was a questionable decision.

I have that exact wheel and tyre combo.
They look sharp and get compliments all the time.
Never had any issues with them. To me they feel smooth and we don't have nice roads.
Only issue is the crabbing when reversing at full turn but that's due to the large wheel.
