Anyone have a classy, CCW solution???? Where do you store your weapon while driving? I haven't gotten the car yet, but in prep, I want to see what people are doing...

The dealer can sort you out; they normally need to be informed

I'm not sure I understand.... Why does the dealer need to be informed? In the states, this isn't so. But is there actually some kind of option in Europe for gun concealment?

Primarily for permanent "ready-to-use" scenarios (e.g. self-defense, convoy escort car,...). If you're just going to a shooting range (for practice), then you must place your piece unloaded, inside a secure box (that can be locked) and safely stored in the trunk (here, no need to inform).
Normally, within a reputable dealership, they have a specialized team who preps cars for high profile customers (normally within the gov/diplomats fleet department). They have cool stuff that are well-designed for specific vehicles. Depends on your use case of course. In the C Class, for a hand gun (for select models + two mags, no silencer), there is a neat option under the armrest compartment (an actual safe) - this one for instance can only be prepped by a specialist.
I'm not into visible handgun/rifle mounts, but I see that you're looking for decent stuff, hence my suggestion.

This is where I keep my S&W 38 Special. There is an elastic strap that helps keep it in place inside the center console.

Does it hold the holster securely enough for you to pull it out in the event of emergency?

Yes it does. I have several handguns. But I've found that this S&W model 637 fits best.

Would i be correct in presuming the preference for the center console if so the weapon is concealed?
If it was required urgently i would expect making some holder insert out of foam for eaxmple for the drivers door bottle holder would be better, or is it as simple that if its not concealed then it may as well be on your person etc.

I am thankful to live in a country that doesn't have a proliferation of firearms, but the logic is of interest.

Thanks in advance.

I would rather have it accessible to the left of the console, under the seat or under the steering wheel. In an emergency it's easily accessible. The console is hidden, and it's a great option, which I will explore once I have the car. If it's quick, I will use it. Otherwise, I will choose the others and make a discrete solution.
