Retro-fit the under seat storage and Nav update

Good Day All

Anyone know if it is possible to retro-fit the under seat storage compartments in a MY'13 C-class? And maybe have the part numbers?

I would really like to have it and I asked the dealer but they just said cant be done but I suspect that might have just been the lazy answer.

Then does anybody have any solid info on the navigation update for the MY'13? My maps(2012) are older than the car is and I have lots of issues with outdated roads

The dealer sold me a dvd and told me to just put it in and let it install while the car is idle-ing or on a charger but the disk asks for a license key. Now the dealer says the car must be booked into the workshop and I must pay R3500($240) for the license and pay 3 hours shop labor at R2400($165) and that not even counting the price already paid for the DVD.

Any info regarding this will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Yes you have to pay for a license to update the map to the latest version. The disc they sold you should have only been a few bucks at most and is usually the cheap part of the update.

Do you maybe know if the license is a one time license or if I will have buy the license for each coming update?

You'll have to buy one for every update.

That is subjective based on if you find you are missing roads where you usually drive, if you travel a lot, and if you tend to use Navi!

So, I will turn the question back to you, IS the nav update worth the money?

To me, yes, to you, well, that's for you to decide!

So the car went in this morning to a different dealer. They are updating the GPS from 2012 to 2014 which is the latest for my car and region. Will report back on if it was worth when I get the car as I use my GPS quite often.

Total cost thus far
R300($20) for the 2014 DVD
R3500($240) for the license key
R2400($165) for the labor.

I did ask if I can do it myself(and not pay the labor) as the license is just a key you enter and the maps are on the DVD but apparently the car needs to be connected to MB's servers while the update is installing and hence the labor charge.

They also said they can easily retro-fit the under-seat storage compartments. They will get me a price on that during the day.
