transmission service / brake question

so those of you who are high milers, im at 41000 miles and i guess its time for a tranny service....how much has it been running you? Is it fluid flush and filter?

also do u guys kow if they will reset a tcu of a 2012 car with the software of the 2015/16..or if its possible

also brake pad sensor is going off...does that imply for only fronts or rears also

i figure im gonna just brake the bank and get all 4 pads and rotors done

Hey Biff take the wife out to dinner and forgetabout a flush----the brake sensor is no doubt one of the fronts---take care of that quickly else you will need rotors, regarding the rear, don't talk about it measure them--wada you get

Most scanner software is backwards compatible!!

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
I just saw a few days ago my invoice for transmission service done a year ago. Now I can't remember because it's broken down into labor and parts in the midst of other services. I'll try to find it.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
Regarding the tcu-- all updates apparently are linked to your vin so if no updates reported in their database you're not getting new software

hopefully I'm wrong and they update yours

I don't recall if the transmission service is due at 40k miles or 70k miles on your car without having the maintenance sheet in front of me, as they transitioned the intervals in 2011-2012 when they changed fluid types. I believe our dealer charges $499 or $549 plus tax (look for coupons!) which includes draining the fluid (sometimes the torque converter, but your car should have a wet clutch), replacing the filter, gasket, and level check tube, and then properly setting the fluid level. I always recommend a differential service at the same interval as a transmission service, which is a simple drain and refill of the rear differential oil. As far as software, im not sure what you're asking. We don't do anything with software for a simple trans service, however if you request a firmware update/backdate, most dealers will work with you and have the capabilities to do so(although backdating is a pain, and typically firmware changes aren't recommended unless there is documentation from MB stating it will fix a known issue). Your vehicle should also be equipped with both front and rear brake wear sensors. With a brake inspection, especially high dollar AMG brakes, we measure the thickness of the pads/discs, and recommend replacement accordingly. Best of luck! Look for specials and coupons!

First at 2k miles then every 30k or 3 years.

No the maintenance sheet specifies trans services are due at 40k, 80k and 120k for the AMG
The rear differential oil change is only specified for vehicles with code 471 (manual locking differential) at the same interval although I would still recommend it for vehicles without LSD (just used different fluid). Your service advisor should have the capability to pull up the maintenance sheet for your specific year/model.

For my 2010, the Service Sheet shows both the tranny and the diff get changed at 40k or 4 years. Is this different for the 2012?
