Because it blows (not enough actually) on the w212!

interested in this as well. It's better than having nothing at all but it would be nice if you could feel it more especially on lower settings.

Still very anemic. You can definitely feel when the air gets circulated in the Volvo's seat, not with the E300. However, the leather feels cooler than the MBtex surface on a warmer day.
Hope this helps.

I have the car for about 2 months. It's my wife's daily driver, but I still grab it for short runs here and there. Still looking for that just right adjustments with the seat. Also, seat location that works for me happens to be the null area for the low bass--all I hear is the boomy mid-bass from the "upgraded" "premier" Burmester sound system!

Completely underwhelmed by the seat fans in the W213... BUT, my M45 had fans + Peltier heat pumps built into the seats and even with the extra cooling it wasn't a huge effect. Even living in Florida, I rarely used the seat cooling on the M45.

You mention in another thread that you're just considering purchasing a W213. I'm just curious how you're framing your opinion on the new seat fans. I just ordered my W213 last week and ordered the ventilated seats even though several dealers didn't have an in stock vehicle with them. I was really hoping they are worth it! It's only a $450 option, but it would be great if they were effective.

Ultimately, I think we're dealing with a physics problem. No car I've driven of any manufacturer has had this feature impress me. (Bentley, Lexus, Infiniti, Mercedes, BMW, Hyundai) Trying to push air through foam, air bladders (if you have the multi-colored seats), heat strips, leather, and the occupant's clothing a standard 12v computer fan is a losing proposition.
At best, the Infiniti setup with a Peltier heat pump + computer fan was at least noticeable, but lack of airflow really hampered it's performance. Infiniti's choice to use the same system for heating the seats was really bad. The MB seat heaters feel like a nuclear reactor compared to what those put out!
Does anyone happen to have a contact @ Mercedes' engineering department? I have an off-the-wall idea on how to make one that works, but I don't have a workshop anymore to build it.
