2020 E63S
Finally Found a 2014 E63S -- bought it!

Hello all,

I have been a lurker here for a while...reading and learning. I have wanted an E63S for a couple of years and was just waiting for the 2014's to become "reasonably priced", and to find the right one of course.

Well, I finally found it. It should be delivered in about a week!

I have had a few other sports cars (2004 GT3, 1995/1997/2008 M3's) and they have all been modified, some pretty thoroughly. I am looking forward to learning more about the E63 and being part of the discussion here. I have been a mod on M3post for several years, but am ready to leave that behind for the AMG world! I am selling the 2008 M3 I ordered in June of 2008...it's been a great car, but I am ready for a change.

I look forward to discussing the E63 will you all. I have seen some great posts and know there is a ton of knowledge here.

On a side note, the car I bought has the 5 spoke wheels. I prefer the 10 spoke (in Silver). If anybody wants to swap/whatever, let me know! I don't even have the car yet, but what the hell...it's worth getting the word out!

Tim

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Do you have the forged 5 dual spoke wheels? I'm sure you wouldn't have difficulty swapping for cast 10 spoke wheels?

Anyway, welcome!!! Hope to see some pics soon.

Articfox - congrats! curious what you paid for yours and the mileage & options?

Sounds like it was optioned out if you have the upgraded 5 spoke forged rims that I believe were a $2k upgrade. Those rims, plus Distronic, DVD Entertainment and upgraded paint seem to be the biggie upgrades if you can find them.

I am shopping for a 2015 E63 CPO if i can find, but see several 2014's that are nicely priced and are very tempting!

congrats on your new addition

Thanks for the info. I am still researching everything and have not spent much time looking at the wheel specs, other than I like the look of the 10 spoke. However, it's prolly wise to stick with the forged wheel.....

hopefully rhe the car will be delivered by the end of next week.

I am having an independent PPI done just to document the condition in case shipping causes any damage. I had one buddy who's car got a bit of shipping damage and it was bell to prove. I will post up some pics for the PPI when I get them.

Welcome. I picked up a 2014 with 18k miles back in mid August. I have the 10 spoke ones but they have curb rash. I have a set of HREs I plan on putting on in the coming weeks and I'll send the ten spokes to be repaired. This is a great car. You'll love it.

I have the 5 spoke as well. I actually preferred them, as they are much easier to clean, and show off the bright red calipers very well. Really lets people know its an AMG.

Although lately ive been leaning towards getting the 10 spoke, just to switch up the look. I would only want the silver color however.

i have the silver 10 spoke on my e63S and love them. They were uniquely ordered with the car by the dealer as they are standard on the e63 non-S....

HEY!! This is helpful to see all options for the 2014 AMG S : https://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/Digital...AMG-4MATIC.pdf

You are welcome...
Im about to make a purchase this weekend! 2014 E63 AMG-S - Black with night package i think... Anyways i did get pricing on a loaded E43 AMG INFUSED (not a real AMG... as you know) the price ended up at over 80K for a V6 wtf. Going with the 2014 E63 this weekend i hope. Wish me luck.
I do have 1 question to any 2014+ E63 drivers................ Does the "M" mode give you true paddle shifter manual whereas the car will not auto upshift for you/>??

m is true paddle shifting though it has some protection built in ... it'll let you bang off the rev limiter but it won't let you stall the engine if your rpms drop and you need to downshift

it also has a bit of lag at times

holding down the downshift paddle will get you into the lowest safest gear without blowing the engine

Congrats....

took me a little over a year to locate my 63s. So far, I am unique with the interior color package.

@PeterUbers,
Thanks for the info. My 2013 E350 just shifts when it wants. its HORRIBLE. I never use the paddle shifts. I was hoping the year newer 2014 E63 wouldnt be the same. Looks like its not. I DO have another question for you, seeing that you are in IL, I am in the NY area... how is the car in the winter/snow?? Thank you good SIR

the car is great in snow with the right tires ... with snow tires it's as great as the e350... just leave in comfort mode for trans and suspension

I accidentally got stuck in an unseasonably early snowstorm with the summers and made it home .. not ideal but the car did well all things considered

now I have all seasons

I think I meant I like the titanium color. I forgot 2014 had a silver color.
Titanium had the grey finish.

I'm in Colorado and just put a set on Nokian WRG3 tires on a spare set of wheels. These tires were highly recommended and are "all weather" as opposed to "all season". I figure Nov-March with the Nokian and April-October with the summer tires/wheels.

I'll let you know how the Nokians work out. I'll had Bizzaks on my other cars/wheels but they wear too fast on a high HP car.

Congrats! I came from a M3 (F80) and had my E63s Wagon for about a month now and loving every moment. It's not nearly nimble as the M3 or other sports cars but the massive torque and the sound (esp. the downshift blip) more than makes up for it. It's also the most comfortable long distance cruiser I've had. Mine has the five spoke forged wheels as well and they are growing on me.

i drive c300's from time to time thanks to the crap that falls apart on the e63S from time to time and it's amazing how nimble that c class is ... can only imagine how fun the c43 and c63s are

I hear ya! I know it isn't as nimble etc. I tracked my 3 previous cars and even instructed for several years. I gave it all up in 2008, when I sold the GT3 and bought the E90 M3. I never tracked that M3....I just got burnt out. But I couldn't get away from a "sporty" car (handling wise). Now I am at a point that I still want the power (even more power!), but would rather have a "gentler" ride that is more comfy for me and my passengers. After researching for quite some time and driving a few of my choices, the E63 was the clear choice! I am sure I will love it....I can hardly wait for it to be delivered.

Right now I am taking crap off my M3. I will probably just sell it to Carmax or similar. I can sell my "parts" for a few grand, so it will all wash out. I guess it will be time to part ways with it next week....8 years old and only 25K on the odometer....I guess I should have driven it more. lol
