Magno Paintwork Care
Hi Team,
I've noticed a number of members on here have Magno paint on their cars, some of whom are first time matte paint owners. Can someone provide insight into which products they found that work best? I've heard great things about Dr. Beasleys, and seen some reviews for the Chemical Guys products as well.
That being said, Mercedes (at least up here in Canada), offers a matte paintwork care kit. Check out this link --> http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/content/.../polishes.html
Has anyone tried this kit? Anyone compared it to other products?
I've known a few people that bought matte paint and maintained it exceptionally well by using some of the non-abrasive chemicals listed above. The consensus was, you don't need to clear bra a matte car any more than you need to clear bra a non-matte car....as long as you wash it thoroughly once every two weeks, it'll stay as good as new. Obvious caveat would be to remove things like bird droppings and oil drips as soon as possible.
A Mercedes rep went as far as to say that the Magno paint has come a long long way from when it was first introduced. Shiny spots and fading only really appear if the paint has been clearly abused or buffed.
Thoughts?

Thanks for starting this thread as I am also interested. The car is my daily driver and have been trying to choose the best option. I have read that applying any film to matte paint can ruin the finish when you decide to remove the film.
Currently only thinking on applying Xpel Stealth on the whole front including front fenders, that would protect against rock chips. Normal hand washes every two weeks should be fine as you suggested. I know my dealership offers them and I live close by, just need to check they don't use any chemicals, else I'll just pay to go to a fancy car wash to do it.

Hi fellows,
I've been using Nanolex products for sometime now, this being my second Magno paint, very happy with the results and easy of application.

I recently removed the yellow decals and gave it a clean and seal with Nanolex. Came up very nice.
Hope that helps
Cheers

I have though about removing the stripes but everyone is telling me to keep em, gives the car its character. Anyway you applied the nanolex products yourself?
Thinking about getting Swissvax products

Yes mate, easy to do and only needs an application every 6 months. Once done, it's wash and dry - easy maintenance.
The matte paint option here in Oz is around 4K and the ED1 is 11K but with the ED1 you get the brakes, interior and exterior body bits so made sense to package the ED1 and then just remove the stripes.
It's personal preference really, for me I love the colour and the clean classy look, also during the first few weeks the car grabbed a lot of unwanted attention, esp when parked. I find that it's a lot more stealth now.
Also be warned, after long periods in the sunlight the decals tend to get "caked on". If you remove then, it could leave behind a hologram / silhouette where the decals used to be. This only happens against the matte paint.
Cheers
Mike

Then a quick clean using this, used this to remove glue residue from decals also, works great

I've only used the normal sealant, the pro is fairly new to the market. I let it sit for a week or 2 after this

After the next wash cycle I use a final detailer

Hope that helps, its quite simple to maintain and best of all you never have to polish the car ever..

And so after that I just use shampoo to clean regularly? I don't need to apply polish or sealant right regularly?

Well as you know I did the full wrap, but I also picked up Dr. Beasleys matte paint care kit. But as for it's effectiveness can't say much yet, but the reviews seem to be good. My SA told me the matte paint really got a bad rep off the start but really is not a lot of work as long as you wash it with the proper products. This will be my daily driver so time will tell how it holds up!

I've heard this to, but know the Xpel rep in another tread said as long as it is removed in the correct way it shouldn't have any problems. Would think it could have to do with shops that aren't use to dealing with matte paint jobs. Know the one that is doing my car does loads of exotics and high value cars, so fingers crossed they know what they are doing lol

I too recommend the Dr Beasley products. Have been using them for about a year and very pleased. The matte paint actually has quite a hard surface. I would think the key is just avoid automatic car washes - hand wash only, with products that do not include wax.

Anyone know how I can get some in the great north?

You can always use the surface cleaner if you get sap or bird poo and then top off with sealant again on that spot. Final finish also comes in handy for top up now and then.

I'm sold on the Nanolex after looking at your pictures. That being said, I can't find a way to order it to Canada. I've been browsing their site to find a seller that ships to Canada and have been out of luck. I'm wondering if I should just order the Dr. Beasley's stuff. It seems good, but Mike's pics using Nanolex looked stunning. It added a level of deepness to the Matte that I haven't seen before.

No worries at all, no the sealant is only once every 6 months, its a small bottle and lasts a long time. between then its wash and dry that's it.. with this color less is more.

Also in their matt kit: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...paint-kit.html
