C220 3.3l/km?!!

Dear all,

A friend of mine has got me really worried about my C220, he send me this pic of his c220 classic where it shows only 3.3l. I was wandering is that even possible? He said he has been driving not idling or in neutral downhill or something. Whereas mine spends the lowest i got was 5.0l on a highway driving 80km/h for like 20km.
So how can i manged to squeeze mine to those numbers apart from not driving it

Regards
GjB

He's driving? At zero km/h? He probably coasted downhill to a stop, you're not going to see those numbers with your foot on the gas.
Edit: just noticed you're driving a diesel...belay my last...

It can be done. I have

You only need a broken core evaporator.

After fixing it (and getting AC back) I resumed normal 4...4,5l/100km

---

"He's driving? At zero km/h?" You cant see "after start" figures and imagine coming to a standstill to take a pic?

Sorry to ask you but how come broken core evaporator reduses the fuel consumption to that point? Or does it affects the odometer readings?
that picture was taken after he stopped.

Maybe because the aircon is completely dead? My compressor was ok at the time but the evaporator was broken. I used the car a few weeks before getting time to the workshop and got 3,xl/100km figures like your friend did.

And now after 3 years of fixing evap, my compressor died 2 months ago, and I still get the same 4,x figures consumption go figure

If your friends AC works just fine, then something else is the problem since there is no way it can go that low normally
