CLK55 AMG Supercharged 475HP

Anyone interested in my toy. I moved to a SL55 and starting the mods.
I posted in the classified section. A great cream puff of a car.
Just ready for a new project.

Check it out.

nice setup; who did your tuning?!

also do you still have the master you used to make your bracket?

I find your accomplishments inspiring/refreshing amidst the many post that say it cannot be done.

Awesome car, I really enjoyed reading some of your old threads regarding the tuning and the photos were very helpful when I was considering doing something similar.

There were a couple of brand new "off the shelf" centrifugal supercharger kits available for the W208 CLK55 at one stage and a few roots/twin screw. It can definitely be done. W209 is more difficult though.

I studied this car as well,

I believe he did his own tuning with a custom MAF and a whipple SC. What micro-controller did you use for boost control with the bolt on?

There is no boost control with any supercharger, just rpm and pulley size.

You can run boost control even with a supercharger. Go check out Famous autosports supercharger kit.

Hey,

Looking at tuning solutions for my SC setup. How did you get the computer to accept the boost? Are you running a clamp on the MAF? also saw that you moved the Throttle body, what are you using to control the TB? Is it a stock TB or aftermarket?

Thanks

I didn't get a chance to research them but logically a supercharger can only make so much boost at any given rpm so boost control could only be achieved by bleeding excess boost off. I can't think of a situation you would do this? If the boost needs to be lowered then a larger supercharger pulley is required. Of course bypass valves are a different notion all together.

I think he used a maf voltage clamp.

Thats right folks,

He is quiet but gives just enough to clue the challenge. Gregg is a Car dude and an ARM processor programmer.

A roots type supercharger on a V8 has no limits on boost with a 6/71 or 8/71 from BDS (blower drive service) only has PRV (pressure reliefe valves) built into the intake.

With Computer Fuel injection and micro superchargers we have to control boost which Gregg has done and a long time ago to add.

All the supercharger bolt on's now a days have boost bypass valves that limit boost similar to a modulating turbo boost controller available from AEM now. AEM makes one of the best Air/Fuel gauges available to fine tune these engines.

It is very important to understand the concept of forced induction beyond this entry.
Gregg is not Gear head but an engineer who developed what he wanted.

It Worked.
Thanks Gregg,
Gator
