C63S Coupe Break in Period

Hi, Quick question:

What is the normal break in period for the C63s Coupe? Does the dealer deactivate launch control and/or race mode for the first 1000 miles or so?

I assume there's no difference between the coupe and the sedan ?
Also, what I was told is that during the break-in the car is not giving out it's full power. again, I'm not sure cuz I never pushed it during my break-in.

usual recommendation is for first 1000 miles keep it under 4500rpm and half throttle. This means leaving it out of sport plus or it will downshift above 4500 rpm

I don't think anything is deactivated by the dealer. According to sticker inside the car its 1,000 miles for break-in, and first service is at 1,850 miles to for a rear axil oil change.

After going through the manual the only thing that's limited is when the engine is cold the car will limit what you do until it heats up (also they don't recommend you let it sit to heat up, just switch on and drive off immediately)

Lol, I was burning out at the dealer's parking lot the day I picked up the car. Break-in what??

I hit 155mph the next day. Changed motor + diff oil at 1800 miles. Changed motor oil again at 5k miles and again at 11k miles.

I don't keep my car for more than 2 years to care about long term damage. That's the next owner's problem.

There's an old old argument you should push it a bit right from the start. Don't drive it like you stole it, but don't baby it either. I wouldn't red line mine, or use the launch control in the first 500 miles, but if they say half throttle and 4,500 Rs, I'll be using all of that.

Why I was asking was because many BMW M cars have a break in period where the dealer turns off some of the features in the car like launch control and sport+/race modes. Thanks all!

Today was a good day!

Finally, took me about 3 weeks.

God... I've fallen in love with this car all over again lol

What an absolute weapon, definitely louder then my old sedan. The traction is unbelievable, it grips straight away. And those cracks and pops are so much louder too!

About time Sanch. You live in Australia, you could have just gone on a jaunt to the next town and done more than that . Over here I had to circumnavigate the whole of the UK ten times! (Joke - it was only 9).

LOL!!!! That break-in period is a beyatch.
And for those of us who want it done ASAFP, we'll probably spend more on gas during that period, being "easy'ish" on the throttle, than in the rest of ownership....

Bwahahahha!!!
