Center console buttons.
Ok so I have a 2005 E500 4matic and I have noticed in my center console there are 2 buttons. One has a wrench on it and the other a "I" does anyone know what they are for?

Tele Aid info & breakdown assistance. Will eventually cause false SOS warnings, best bet have someone with SDS (MB diagnostic system): Control Units – Body - CGW (Central Gateway) - Control Unit Adaptations - Read Coding and Change if Necessary - Telecommunications - Telematics Service “Tele Aid” in combination with MOST technology - change coding from PRESENT to NOT PRESENT.

Can I do it with a scanner decoder? I'm in the market for one just to have because I also have the tele aid malfuction warning and srs warning. I have a feeling from what I have read that the srs is coming from passenger seat. Every rime some one sits in it a message comes up about restraint system passenger side activated. But back to the scanners. What's a decent one to get to read srs and check engine codes and also reset service? I have tried to reset E service threw the dash and keeps telling me service not confirmed. I can't reset anything.

Choice of scanners is whole can of worms.
I am researching it and good scanner cost like $2500, while the $600 Chinese cracks bring lot of hassle.
One of local to me members bought lately C4 and I am amazed how many hr he put into researching and setting it to work.
Anyway, I found lately good recommendation for Polish scanner and speaking Polish, I already have scanner in the mail.
Could not get firm confirmation how far it will go, but less than $200 scanner, that operate with every computer and is having 7 languages build-in is a good bet.
Check with me in couple of weeks.
