You can buy a copy of MB's manual everybody just knows as WIS. It's not paper - its a CD. Search Mercedes WIS on ebay. Covers multiple models and years and has step by step with photos of most everything.

There is a Haynes manual for the W203. Which covers a lot of the mechanical things. As they share most of their underpinnings with the W203. I paid about £20 and the Haynes manuals are VERY good.

However I also bought a copy of WIS as a download from emanuals online. I find they're actually very helpful whenever I've had issues or needed a reinstall/another copy. I did find the manual quite difficult to work with to begin with, however after a few tries, I'm quite comfortable with finding info quickly.

I'm not sure emanualsonline is the same thing as the Mercedes WIS. I purchased the WIS on ebay two years ago and I still use it to this day. On ebay it comes in the form of a DVD that you need to install (It's rather large). It installs a Windows XP virtual machine on your system. You open it an you basically have the same looking screen the Mercedes mechanics use. This is the one I purchased

That's exactly the same as the one I've got, that I purchased from emanualsonline. It's a massive file, and I could have paid an extra few £ for the disc, but I just downloaded it instead. It is a massive file. Same thing about the virtual machine. Have got WIS/ASRA, all the other bits and bobs. They allowed me to download the one purchase to multiple devices too.
