More important: Burmester or Panoramic Roof?
I'm in the market for a GLC, but I'm having a hard time finding a lightly used one with both the Panoramic Roof and Burmester in my area.
If push cam to shove, which one could you do without? I'm guessing most answers will be the roof...
So far getting just Burmester is $3K cheaper than finding one with both; that's not white

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
Pano is heavy and problematic and high maintenance
SOME have flawless pano, good for them
go for the nicer audio

While panoramic roof could have some issues in the future but it does let a lot of sun lights inside the car which makes the car feel more spacious than it is, especially in the back seats.
Burmester sounds really nice.
Try it out for yourself and decide.
I have both features and like them both.

You could go to the nearest MB dealer and sitting in one and try out the pano roof and burnmester sounds.
You can try them on GLC or C-class and see which option you want more.

Ha! I appreciate all the responses.
I'm cheap, but I do want both. And I'm willing to spring for both if the Goldilocks used vehicle appears - right color, not too far away.
This is going to sound like blasphemy and I feel a little dirty bringing it up... but the 2017 CR-V Touring has also piqued my interest:
Vs the GLC at my $42K price threshold:
Cons:
It's a Honda, not a Mercedes
Not as attractive
1.5L 190HP not 2.0 241HP - not as sporty or fun to drive
Interior, while a step up, is not as nice
Sunroof not panoramic
Stereo not as nice
Much shorter warranty - 3 year 36K vs a used 2017 GLC under 1k miles that has additional 12 months = 6 year unlimited warranty
Pros:
$35K loaded. About $7-$8K cheaper
CarPlay / Android Auto
LED Headlights
Navigation
A lot more safety features for the price
Bigger / more cargo capacity / more rear legroom
Real leather
Rear kick open hatch
6 MPG better on the highway

Did you listen to one with each sound system? Especially with the music source that you would typically use? I ask, since I do enjoy great sound and honestly, even though I have the upgrade, I'm not blown away (though I usually listen to Sirius and I realize the source quality isn't the best.)
As an aside, I strongly suspect that resell might be more with the roof. It's just that people see the roof and won't really hear the improved sounds as easily if you're selling yourself. Who knows how, if at all, trade-in value is impacted.

+1 I could easily give up the pano roof. In fact if it didn't come as standard on my model I would not have ordered it; heavy, noisy, reduce headroom and can't close it fully (as in the cover is see through which is slightly annoying at night time with the reflections of street lighting in the uk.

I personally love the panoramic roof and try to get that option on any car that I get. To me, the amount of light that comes through is a huge bonus. Unfortunately, the GLC coupe doesn't come with it.
I did get the Burmester though, but honestly, it was because love the way the speakers look. I'm not an audiophile, so I may not hear the better sound quality. It also helped that it was only an $800 option

Have both. Like both of them. If I had to give up one. I would give up pano and keep sound.

During the ordering process couldn't reach a decision so made it easy and at the same time made my wife happy...just ordered them both.
If I had to give up one it would be he Burmester. Never turn it on. No so when my wife is present.
In my Vette, probably been two years since the radio was on. Couldn't hear it anyway since the Arkapovic exhaust system is somewhat loud.

In Oz the roof option is combined with heads up display. The HUD is a great feature.

For me. it would definitely be the sound system- I'm using that all the time in the car, and I appreciate the better quality that the upgrade gives. I'm getting the pano as well only because it comes as part of the Premium plus package in the UK, and it will probably help re-sale. It'll be the first 'sun-roof' I've had in a car for more than 10 years though!
Go for the Burmester (IMHO)

I'd pick the pano seven days a week!
Why purchase one of the quietest suv's
only to pollute the silence with crappy noise?
But that's just the 2 kronas from an old geezer
that used to be a hard rocker in the seventies,
but eventually outgrew the noisy music scene.
I'm gonna totally enjoy the silence in my GLC
250, when finally delivered (in two weeks)...
