Second 12 inch display
Since I have a build delay of 3 months. I was sitting on the MBUSA web site building my car over, and over. I was thinking about adding the second 12 inch display. now the reason I didn't on all my other builds is that I kind of like the analog look, you know gauges. now though I don't know what do you all think?????

The main reason I had to choose the digital display was because I can't stand how the standard analog gauges actually write out each number in 10mph increments. This makes it very difficult for me to glance at the gauges and see exactly what speed I am driving. this is the same problem as in the C class since they use the same gauge. In my past MBs, the numbers were in 20mph increments and I am glad to say that the digital cluster in classic screen returns to this. It is a much cleaner design and its easier on the eyes
this is in KPH but you get the picture so the MPH is even cleaner looking

I opted for the second 12.3" display because one of the main reasons I am buying this car is its host of technology advancements. So I figured if I am going to "take the plunge" I might as well go all the way (I also ordered P3 with HUD). What is not clear to me is the following: Will I be able to display information on that second screen that I would not have otherwise been able to see on the analog dials which have a small LCD display in the middle of it? Or is it simply the same info digitized?

So first you need to know that you can choose from thee designs: classic (as shown above), sport (which is like classic but with yellow coloring accents), and progressive, which has a digital speedo in the center with info flanking both sides.
Instead of the RPM meter, you can have navigation (though there is no zoom functionality or any settings to change anything), RPM+ECO display (which is what I like to use), another display that shows trip mpg numbers and miles to empty.
I too have P3 with HUD and the digital cluster. No regrets.

The second display is mainly for wow factor. In the US its included in the P3. I tried them both and I must confess the regular binnacle seems to simply be missing something, the second screen is fabulous. On the AMG models, it also includes additional AMG schemes, plus the HUD also has AMG specific graphics. One pet peeve I've always had with the regular HUD is no tachometer, the AMG version solves that.

Just got back from dealer and I added the 12.3 screen and heated steering wheel lol... to think when I started shopping a year ago I was looking at a entry level C Class now one year later and its an pimped out E for 76420.00 MSRP... hoping to get some USAA discount in may.

Yea ditto. I was in the market for a pre-owned lux sedan in the $40k range when I ended up spending nearly $70k. And the car I just bought will likely be readily available CPO with 10k miles this fall for $15k less.

I love the progressive layout. Digital speed readout in centre so no confusion over your speed ringed by digital rev counter that gets red towards red line. Underneath that is drive assist. Shows distance to car in front, if lane tracking is locked, what speed car ahead is doing (via little red bug in Speedo). Then I have media or radio control to left so I can see radio or track info and so tracks with right hand touchpad. On right I have trip/fuel reserve info. Then on main display I can leave it devoted to massive map. Lovely set to.
