Stupid question
Alright guys, this is a rather silly question, but can someone tell me why my car sometimes feels "yucky" when I drive it while other times it feels like it's breathing perfectly and has power on tap? The car isn't stumbling or stalling but it sometimes just doesn't feel "right". I use Techron additive every so often and it feels better afterwards (psychosomatic?), but the yuckiness happens whenever without rhyme or reason. Like it will feel great one morning, then when I get back in it a few hours later it won't feel as good. Maybe I'm crazy. Or maybe I have a seriously gunked up engine.

I find that when I have been driving rather aggressively she responds back aggressively and stays aggressive.

Well, from my recent dyno and some driving experience in the C63 and my previous C55, it seems that our cars really do "wake up" when we beat on them. For instance, when I got my car on the dyno, we did 3 pulls and each pull put down more power - 443, 445, and 451.

Thanks, guys. Sounds like the fix is a fun one at least! Problem is I drive short distances, and in LA traffic!

Run some different gas periodically. The AMG driving academy does. Change of additives and all that. I know a couple guys who have had issues, as have I, and all 3 of us now mix it up a bit and find we are problem free. We all used to use Chevron 94 (Canada) but now use a mix of of Chevron and Shell. Consistently runs better.
Anecdotal antidote obviously, but worth trying. YRMV.

Hahaha. Kinda related side note...my brakes were really squeaking at stops I have the p31 package, so I took that to get evaluated by my buddy at the dealer and he checked out all the rotors and pads and his conclusion was I basically needed to stop driving it like a ***** and push it harder, lol. Never thought I'd get that diagnosis from a dealer mechanic, lol. Guess these things are made to be driven hard!
