I got rear ended on the highway.
Remarkably, considering the jolt I took the airbags didn't go off and I wasnt hurt. Ths may be due to a safety feature that I was unaware of. The headrests both popped forward, preventing whiplash. Quite remarkable. Now the only problem I have is figuring out how to re-set them. Anyone know how to put them back?

I dug through my trunk, pulling out my tool kit, portable hydraulic floor jack, assorted bottles of washer fluid, mobil one, anti freeze, and canvas shopping bags to get to my spare, knowing the car's tool kit was in the well. I unrolled the tools only to discover that the one tool I needed was not there. I put everyting back, hopefully in a much neater way, and went to my tool box where I dug out a long, thin phillips head screwdriver. Reclined the seats, used the improvised tool, and in mere seconds the headrests were restored. Jacked up the rear, everything appears to be normal. The only sign that I was hit is the perfect impression of two phillips head screws in my bumper. Must've been in his plate brackets. Thanks, all, for the help!

I would pull the cover. If the foam is broken inside there it will not take an impact the same again. It is designed to break to absorb the impact.

Glad you got that sorted. It's nice to have it all put back together again.
